The admissions team at Columbia Business School (CBS) has completed reading applications from all of its January and Early Decision applicants, according to an email sent yesterday to the Association of International Graduate Management Consultants (AIGAC). Many of those decisions have been rendered, and all remaining final decisions are expected to be communicated by November 24th.
Regular Decision review will start on November 21st, with interview invitations scheduled to begin rolling out on December 1st. “Approximately 30 percent of the pool is interviewed and 17 percent ultimately admitted,” read the email.
The email also offered financial aid timeline advice for admitted applicants, as well as reminders about deposit deadlines. “Our Financial Aid office will start accepting applications by mid-January,” the email stated. “Need-based fellowship awards will start rolling out on Monday, February 13th, after our Columbia Connect admit event on Friday, February 10th,” it continued. To facilitate earlier review of their financial aid forms, admitted students can use their 2015 tax returns.
To reserve a spot in the Class of 2019, candidates need to submit their deposits to CBS by the following deadlines:
Deposit Deadline I: February 20, 2017 (for candidates admitted up through January 31st)
Deposit Deadline II: April 28, 2017 (for candidates admitted between February 1st and April 14th)
All candidates admitted after April 15th will have two weeks to submit their initial tuition deposits.
Lastly, the email encouraged prospective applicants who are conducting research into CBS to take advantage of the school’s library of recorded content. In particular, a series of 55-minute industry webinars offer industry-specific information from students, alumni, faculty and administrators, providing a valuable way for prospective applicants to learn more about the CBS curriculum, student experience and alumni outcomes.
