This edition of Real Humans: MBA Students takes us to Cambridge, England, to meet students in the one-year MBA program at Cambridge University’s Judge Business School.
Cambridge Judge has a class size of around 200 students, with women comprising about a third of the group. The small group is also a diverse ones, as around 50 nationalities are represented in the class. To apply, candidates must have at least three years of professional experience, but the class averages around six altogether. And the school also suggests scoring above a 640 on the GMAT though the class earned a mean score of 690.
The academic year is a rigorous and team-based one. Margaret O’Neill, Head of MBA Marketing, Admissions, and Careers explained in our Admissions Director Q&A, “You’re working in study groups and integrated projects with clients from day one, applying your learning live with real clients and learning from your classmates as you go. Over one intense year you’ll have the chance to work on two live consulting projects with clients, a client project aligned with your concentration and an individual project. By the end of the year, we know our students can pitch in and add value to any team, anywhere in the world.” Beyond these client and team projects, students have further opportunities to get to know their classmates and the broader community of Cambridge students by joining one of the university’s 31 Colleges. In addition to housing, dining and sports affiliations, each College provides social connections and academic support.
When Clear Admit asked four exceptional first-year students about what inspired them to attend Cambridge Judge, and they all lauded Judge’s collaborative and inclusive spirit, the diversity and intimacy of the class, and the focused intensity of the 1-year program.
Let’s hear more about what brought each of them to Cambridge.
