The interview was with an alumnus in Bangalore and was a blind interview with the alumnus having just my CV. The interviewer was friendly and the interview went smoothly. He was an entrepreneur himself and I had a similar background, so we connected really well.
The questions were standard and he went into details of all the answers I gave especially the why MBA and why Duke part. The interviewer also focused on the Team Fuqua, which I mentioned was one of the reasons why I wanted to join Fuqua.
In my job I had worked with different nationalities, so he asked general questions on how did you work with diverse people and what was the difficulty you faced?
Some of the questions were as follows:
- Walk me through your resume
- Why MBA and Why Duke – a lot of cross questioning on these answers. He was aware of the industry I was working so he went in detail.
- Can you tell me about a situation in which you had a conflict and how you handled it? Can be personal or professional.
- I mentioned Team Fuqua so he asked what was Team Fuqua in my definition and how will I contribute to it.
Overall the interview lasted for 50 mins and was more conversational. I asked 3-4 questions after the interview, which I had prepared in advance. Overall nothing to stress too much with Duke Interview.
