I'm 28 years old applying this Fall to my top choices but clear #1 being Ross. I graduated from a good state school with a 2.68 GPA and degree in Finance. The first obvious concern with my application is the low GPA, which stems from tough medical issues and working to support myself financially during school.
I was involved in EC's during school as well as some mentoring. Post-grad I worked at a bank initially before moving to the airline industry, where I've spent now over 5 years. I've had multiple jobs in the airline industry between revenue management and sales. I was an International pricing analyst covering EU markets while working with EU partners. My second job in the department involved pricing strategy for $300M contracts for the Latin region, which involved a ton of collaboration with internal/external stakeholders, as well as presenting to senior level management & a lot of quantitative analysis. I moved into Global Sales where I managed RFPs, quarterly business reviews for all corporate accounts in the region and also took over the sports and entertainment sponsorship's. I currently work as an account manager where I manage a $50M corporate portfolio of accounts in the biggest Domestic market (NYC).
Currently close to taking GRE next month. Aiming for high 320's or low 330's but yet TBD. ECs through work have included volunteering and community service both in the US and abroad.
Post-MBA goal in the long run is to run my own startup, but in the short term transition into Business Development/Brand Management/or Product Marketing to build the necessary skill set while working in an area of interest.
thanks for any feedback!
