Applied R3 in 2021, waitlisted at Haas and Sloan, dinged at GSB (no interview) and Kellogg. Any tips for a reapplicant in 2022? I’ll have 8 years of work experience prior to starting in 2022, any recommendations for an older applicant besides clearly defining career goals?

Ivy League Undergrad, ChemE major.

Extracurriculars-
College: Varsity athlete and Captain in college, student athlete leadership council, senior honor society member.
Professional: Elected for leadership roles for auxiliary work groups (New employee network, etc).

Experience-
7 years work experience, with increasing responsibility in technical roles for downstream oil companies. Recently promoted to an Operations Supervisor role (5 direct reports w/ 50+ employees below them).

Applying in R3 is always very tough, your chances as a reapplicant in round 1 should improve. As an older applicant, showing fit is important, too; show that you will fully engage with all of the offerings. Add Wharton. (1)
