Notes:

I currently work as an engineer / asset manager for a smaller Energy Investment Company (backed by larger known PE firms) where I manage $170+ MM worth of assets and lead engineering investment analysis for a specific fund (sub company). I enjoy what I do but don’t see much growth as my company is fairly flat. I would prefer to move to an Energy PE company after my MBA, but understand it’s a longer shot. I am also interested in consulting / investment banking. My job is still going well, so don’t know if I would attend B-school if I can’t go T-10/UT, despite the longer odds.

Have taken the GMAT a few times so don’t imagine I will take it again before round 1 applications.

anon38146 Likes Earned: 0 Thanks Alex! I am an Indian from the US. Activities outside of work include hobbies of sports leagues and only general volunteering experience. Geographically I’m pretty open, but maybe a few years down the line I’d like to get back to Texas/family. (0)

anon38146 Likes Earned: 0 Appreciate the help on the podcast, really enjoyed the episode! I’m planning on structuring my goals as IB or consulting (depending on the schools typical specialty) with a long term vision of CFO/VP/Strategy in an energy company through the energy transition. I’m not really planning on mentioning energy private equity as goal, except possibly in an interview. I went to a top 2 Texas state school and was an engineering major. GMAT wise, I’ve taken it 5 times (3 accepted scores of ,710(twice) (49Q/36V) and 700(44Q/41V)) with varying sub-scores but could never peak on both quant and verbal on the same day unfortunately. I might take the GRE as well, but worried that I’m running out of time for this application cycle if I switch back to tests. (0)
