First-Gen White, British male with UG Chemistry from Russell Group university. Spent one year in Australia in travel sales (promotion + management role), then eight years in Taiwan as an educator (English teaching in the very beginning all the way through to department chair of multi-national science department, 10+ staff, at top local private school). Left the school and started my own consultancy that works with various local schools in helping them transition to bilingual/international curriculums - running workshops, mentoring and training teachers. Self-taught in Mandarin Chinese, conduct my business and some of my sessions in the language. ECs - lead singer and guitarist of a band, do stand-up and storytelling. Volunteering is illegal for foreigners in Taiwan, though I maintained a year-long partnership with local outreach center as part of my company. Plan for MBA: secure a consultancy internship ASAP, pitch EdTech ideas to as many useful people/in as many competitions as possible, explore possibility of brokering/developing partnerships (research or exchange-based) between Taiwanese institutions and the school I matriculate at.
