I did my undergrad in Electrical Engineering as an international student in Canada from the top most engineering school in the country - U Waterloo.
Right out of university, got a customer success and technical solutions role at a Y-Combinator backed startup operating in Hardware Design and Electronics space. We got bought out by a large publicly traded ECAD software company. Since then, I have transitioned into a Strategic Partnerships and Product Operations role at my current product unit. We operate in the ECAD Software and Semiconductor Supply Chain Data space. My role right now is to go partner with component manufacturers and distributors for data and inturn we monitize this data through our API to provide insights into pricing trends, inventory history, and predictive models.
Based on my reflection about my career progression so far, I have come to realize that I operate in a niche business domain. I also have very little foundational knowledge in operations, finance, or product management. I'm Looking to fill the skill gaps and and work product operations and strategy roles at consumer-tech, travel-tech, and fin-teach companies.
Don't have much altruistic ecs like non-profit work etc.. But, I make spent most of my free time making pizzas (dough and sauce right from scratch) and going on hikes.
