Based on their 2022 Daytime MBA employment report, Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business reports that the Class of 2022 has set new records for the school in median salary and job acceptance rates.
At the three-month post-graduation mark, 98 percent of MBAs had received a job offer, and acceptances reached 97 percent. The median base salary for the Class of 2022 is $160,055, an increase of 14 percent over last year’s median. The median signing bonus reported is $30,000. Graduates landed 81 percent of job placements through school-facilitated activities, either through a school-sponsored internship, interview, or job posting. The school boasts 133 unique employers hiring from the graduating class.
Industry and Regional Trends
The placement stats are based on 348 graduates seeking employment. Consulting has long been the number one draw for Fuqua MBA graduates and this year set a record for the program at 36 percent joining the industry. The technology industry recruited 23 percent of graduates, while 16 percent went to financial services. Healthcare and consumer packaged goods round out the top five industry choices at 11 percent and four percent, respectively. Consulting and financial services secured the highest median salaries at $175,000 each.

Roughly 97 percent of the class stayed in the U.S. to begin their careers. The Northeast took in 29 percent of graduates, up from 23 percent last year. The West hosted a quarter of the Duke MBA Class of 2022. Seventeen percent headed to the South region of the U.S. followed by 14 percent heading Southwest. Nine percent settled in the Mid-Atlantic and six percent in the Midwest.
