I am a Nigerian, based in Nigeria with an undergrad degree in Chemistry with a 3.07 GPA converted from the Nigerian 5.0 scale to the 4.0 scale. Started a little badly but was able to grow my GPA to that point over the course of the four years. I have worked in financial services (Audit), Investment banking, and now Fintech in my close to 5 years career. I contribute to the strategic impulses of my current company as it relates to market entry strategy and partnerships successfully activating two new markets in Africa.
I am a native English and Yoruba speaker with a basic command of Spanish. I am a certified rescue Finacial Modeller, ICAN (CPA equivalent in Nigeria). Just after my university, I was president of PET, a team of 37 people in an anti-HIV and AIDS community development service group for a year, in the one year we reached c. 9500 secondary school students across the North West region of Nigeria with focusing on HIV prevention for the sexual minorities and support services for those living with HIV/AIDS. We distributed sanitary pads and HIV testing centers. Outside work, I volunteer as the program coordinator for my city for an NGO that focuses on empowering less privileged, gifted African Children through education, mentorship, and leadership opportunities.
I failed a Maths course at the university but I never retook it cos it was optional in the first place (it shows there in my transcript). GRE 337 (Quants: 170, Verbal: 167). My goal post-MBA is to pursue Consulting. I am industry agnostic, but I have some interest in tech.
I am also a reapplicant (initially applied with a GRE of 302), what are my chances with the schools I applied to before?
