Bachelor of Engineering in IT from India from a Tier-1 Engineering college. 3 YOE as a SW Engg, 3.5 YOE in Business Management. Moved to Canada, 3.5 YOE in Sales. GMAT FE - 675 (100%ile in Q, 51% in V, 90th in D). Canadian citizen now.
My goal is consulting - generalist consulting/tech consulting leveraging my tech, business, and sales experience.
ECs - was a part of University soccer team, participated in Amateur regional soccer leagues, won numerous sports competition at school as well as at work. Was elected as a part of 9 member student council of the University (14K+ students). Co-convener Sports committee in College.
I am more inclined towards 1 year FT programs at MIT, Kellogg, Stanford, INSEAD but open to 2 year FT as well.
Would love your tips and advice.

Are you involved in activities now, outside of work? Showing impact and growth at work will be really important.

You are aiming high with your list of target programs, which may be warranted, but it might be worth exploring programs in the next tier, still targeting round 1.

anon32923 Likes Earned: 7 OP comment. Thanks a lot Alex for your insights. I am hoping to continue in Consulting for a while before eventually starting something of my own down the line. I am looking to sign up for volunteering activities outside work esp. in nature and wildlife preservation. As a hobbyist bird photographer, contributed to several e-bird checklists in the past and signed up for a volunteering opportunity that benefits from this activity. A bit of a background regarding this year's application. Got my GMAT result in March and applied for just RossM in R3. Got waitlisted after interview. I won't say I did my extreme best so that kind of gave me a confidence boost. Will include a few more T15s for R1 and target the rest in R2. Would you suggest taking GMAT FE again and try to break 700? What else can I do to strengthen my application? I was reading about profiles in US 1-year programs and kind of skeptical if my non-leadership profile would be that competitive. Thoughts? (0)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1676 Regarding the GMAT, if you think you can improve your score, with more prep, then yes, it makes sense to do so, but make sure you still target Round 1. Love the bird stuff and preservation.

Without formal leadership, it might be challenging for those one year programs. But on the other hand, with 10 years of experience, you’ll need to address “why now” etc. very clearly with the traditional programs, too.
