Question
about
All Schools
Hi guys, it was a particularly unsuccessful round 1 for me as it seems as of now, and highly likely it remains this way. I applied to Kellogg, Yale, Haas, Anderson, Tuck, Darden, and Duke. Out of these, Tuck was EA hence had a guaranteed interview, while from all the others, only got an interview invite from Darden and have interviewed with them. I have not heard anything yet from the rest of the schools, and it’s almost now 2 months since I applied to Kellogg, Yale, and Haas. Is it now over for R1, how long should I wait? Is there anything I can do now, or should I not waste any more time now and plan something for R2? Any tips are greatly appreciated, thank you so much in advance!!

1. I would not count yourself out just yet. While the interview invites may slowing to a trickle, you aren't out of the running until you have a rejection letter, and you still may get good news from Tuck or Darden. Of course, given that R2 is just around the corner (most deadlines will be in the first week or two of January), you are absolutely right to be doing some game-planning for possible apps in that round if need be.
2. In order to know exactly what that game-planning might entail, you need to take a long hard look at your candidacy and how you presented your self in R1. How are your counting stats (GPA, GMAT/GRE, YOE)? How good were your recommendations? Were you happy with your essays? Are you an ORM or URM? As a starting point, I suggest that you post your basic profile on ApplyWire to get some frank feedback on where you stand. By posting to ApplyWire, you can get that kind of high level assessment.
Best of luck!
