In this installment of our ongoing MBA podcast roundup, we continue our survey of productions by top U.S. business schools. Expect alumni insights, behind-the scenes revelations, and award-winning research in this line up of business school podcasts.

Carnegie Mellon Tepper: Humans of Tepper 

Carnegie Mellon Tepper’s podcast, Humans of Tepper, is student-led. Students, faculty, and alumni come together to discuss Tepper’s unique positioning among business, technology, and analytics, as well as their own experiences of studying and teaching there. 

Season 3, the most recent season, is hosted by Michael Schrott, Ayush Rungta, and Rosa Maria Manrique Castell. All three hosts were part of the MBA Class of 2023, and were drawn to the podcast for the opportunity to learn more about the insights and experiences of others in Tepper’s world of business. 

Recent episodes include “Talking Tech Strategy and Product Management” in which the hosts are joined by two first-year international MBA students, Alp Erbug and Pablo Gomez—or “Entrepreneurship at Tepper,” where hosts and guests discuss Tepper’s unique approach to innovation.

Tepper has released three seasons of the podcast since its launch in 2021, making up a total of 24 episodes.

Emory Goizueta: Goizueta Effect 

Emory Goizueta’s podcast, Goizueta Effect, delivers insights on the latest trends, research, and innovations in business. Leading faculty from the university unpack various aspects of business with an aim to inspire its listeners to “achieve more, do more, and create more in today’s ever-changing marketplace.”

Recent episodes include “Secrets To Career Switching And Success In The Job Market,” which examined the strategic process of navigating career transitions with Danielle Rubenstein and Chantal McMahon; and “The Power of Inclusive Brands,” which explored brand inclusivity and its development with Goizueta Professor Omar Rodríguez-Vilá. 

Since its launch in 2020, the podcast has aired 30 episodes.

Georgetown McDonough: McDonough Talks 

Georgetown McDonough aims to build community with its podcast. Run by the Student Government Association, “McDonough Talks” shares insights on life on Georgetown’s MBA program. 

One recent episode was titled “All in on Conservation and Social Impact,” in which podcast hosts sat down with Hallie Sacks Danberg and Leo Taffe (both second-year MBA students) to discuss their respective internships at The Conservation Finance Network and the National Parks Service. In another, titled “Time to Flex,” the podcast hosts interviewed two Flex MBA students about juggling a career and studying, their journeys into the MBA route, and their dreams for the future. 

The podcast has released 13 episodes since its launch in 2021.

Indiana Kelley: ROI Podcast 

Indiana Kelley’s podcast, the ROI podcast, is aimed at professionals from all industries. It spotlights the practical tips and fascinating insight of its world-renowned faculty and other business experts. Purporting to give its listeners a competitive edge, ROI presents stories packed with actionable and cutting edge details. 

One such episode from ROI is the multi-part titled “REWIND: How Are Brilliant Careers Made and Unmade.” Podcast host Matt Martella, and a variety of Kelley professors and management professionals, sat down with Carter Cast, author of “The Right (and Wrong) Stuff: How Brilliant Careers are Made and Unmade.” Together, they discussed the rise and fall of many business professionals, the traits that make good leaders, the personality types that derail careers, and strategies for leadership development. 

The podcast has been running since 2017 and has released 222 episodes.

UCLA Anderson: Why MBA

UCLA Anderson’s Why MBA podcast shares the inside scoop on business school. Listeners can expect to hear a behind the scenes picture of the UCLA Anderson MBA experience via the stories of current students and MBA graduates. Episodes are hosted by 2017 graduate Alex Grodnik.

One recent episode, titled “A Healthy, Active, Optimized Life,” features Clayton Frech (’98), the founder and CEO of Angel City Sports. Angel City Sports is one of the U.S.’s largest adaptive sports organizations; inspired by the founder Clayton Frech’s gold medalist-winning son, it aims to create opportunities and a sense of belonging for anyone with a physical disability. Another, titled “Be Open to An International Career,” discusses the fine balance of committing to career goals, but keeping an open mind for the path one takes to achieve them. Savita Iyer (’05), CFO of Southeast Asia and Head of Finance APAC Media Networks at The Walt Disney Company and commencement speaker for her FEMBA class at Anderson, is the guest on this episode.

Vanderbilt Owen: One Thousand Ways To Lead

Vanderbilt Owen’s One Thousand Ways To Lead spotlights the multitude of ways that leadership can be done and success can be achieved. The show is an inspiring take on the topic, platforming the insights of current students and alumni alike. A different story features in each episode, with interviewees sharing their experiences, their challenges, and the wisdom they have gained. Guests range from recent graduates to senior managers; they share stories packed with practical tips and fascinating details. The podcast interviews are led by current Owen students. 

One recent episode was titled “How to Lead with Purpose and Make a Difference Beyond Your Career,” in which Olivia Cooper, a Vanderbilt Owen alum, explained her journey into marketing strategy and community leadership and the lessons learned along the way; another was “How to Lead Teams with Transparency and Clarity,” in which Michael Chao, Vanderbilt Owen alum and Head of Marketing at Lidl, shared the story of his varied career across startups and industry giants. 

Since its release in 2024, the podcast has aired nine episodes.

Washington Foster: Foster Career Chats 

Washington Foster’s podcast is led by its career services team. Titled “Career Chats,” it interviews industry professionals and shares insights on building a career to an audience of undergraduate and Specialized Master’s students.

Recent highlights include an episode with Tim Kim, who discusses his career journey through the military, Amazon, and Microsoft, and his trick for getting his resume noticed—another was a discussion Filiz Genca, former COO of CareRev and ex-Amazonian.
