Notes:

I was admitted to Darden and Yale and waitlisted at Tuck. I have 7 YoE at a civic tech startup and looking to pivot into VC investing for civic/political/govtech. No scholarships, so they are on equal footing financially.

Would love to hear people's thoughts on Darden vs. Yale for someone with my career interests.

eliot Verified User. Likes Earned: 1948 Congrats on your acceptance to both Darden and Yale SOM. Both are great MBA programs. Having said this, I think that Yale SOM has an edge over Darden given your career goals. First, Yale SOM publishes VC job placement in their career reports while Darden does not. For example, in the Class of 2024, Yale SOM placed 3 graduates into VC jobs and 4 into PE jobs. Second, Yale SOM has strong ties to the gov't/civic/non profit sector which would give you good connections as you focus on investing in the govtech space. Third, if you want to work in NYC, Yale has deep ties and close proximity to the NYC finance community. Of course, I do encourage you to do your due diligence by visiting both programs and chatting with current students. Best of luck. (1)
