Notes:

Will have 3.5 years of WE upon matriculation (Fall 2021). My short-term goal is to pivot into a Product Marketing Management role for hardware at a tech firm by leveraging by knowledge of the "back end" of product development (Manufacturing, Logistics, Sourcing, Transportation, etc.). Long-term, I'd like to get back into Strategic Sourcing leadership for tech hardware with a specific focus on suppliers in developing economies. I have seen the social / economic impact that foreign direct investment can have on a developing community, and I'd like to carry that into a more influential long-term role.

It does sound like you have interesting experience. Are you also involved in activities outside of work? Goals make sense, like the long term goal. Might consider 1-2 more M7 programs? duaregis Likes Earned: 38 OP here - Thanks for the insight Alex! 2 years WE as of today, aiming for a 3rd promotion by application time to display quick career growth. I am anticipating this promotion to take place at some point this year, but possibly not by R1 deadline. Would you recommend waiting until R2 if the additional promotion doesn't come before R1? I am able to show growth and impact in my current role, but concerned that my WE is on the lower end for some of the top programs. I'm involved in a couple of different EC's that reflect several core values (leadership, mentorship, development). I'll continue involvement in these throughout the next year and a half, as they truly are things I'm passionate about. I haven't looked too closely at Sloan yet, as I've never considered pure entrepreneurship to be one of my strengths. However, with a short-term goal in tech and a long-term goal in an Operations-driven role, I should probably dive a bit deeper. Big fan of the podcast, thanks again for reading! (1)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1675 Sloan does sound like it might be a good fit. Depending on when you get the promotion, I'd probably look to split the applications between the first two rounds, unless you are part of an over-represented profile, but that doesn't appear to be the case. (0)

duaregis Likes Earned: 38 Thanks for the review! To answer a couple of questions that came up on the podcast: 1) GMAT Breakdown was 49Q, 40V. Might re-take, but will likely apply with 720 and re-take next year if I don't get into target schools. 2) Undergrad was in Supply Chain (minor in Engineering) from a Top 50 Public University (top 10 in Supply Chain). 3) A detailed descriptions of EC's might give away my identity, but they all are around education & sports philanthropy (as a leader and a volunteer). ~5-7 hours per week involvement. 4) LORs should be strong from previous managers and should point to leadership potential and success / growth in current role.
