I'm a first generation Pakistani-American female. I went to McCombs for undergrad and have been working at General Mills for the last 5 years in their sales management division. I've held 4 roles including 2 promotions, and 1 role included managing someone. I'm looking to pivot into brand management or product marketing and I'm interested in CPG, tech, & entertainment companies post-MBA. I want an international career so the school must have a global component (exchange program or opportunities to do projects internationally). I'd prefer to go to school that's in a more urban environment and I would like to stay in a big city post-MBA. I'm planning to take the GMAT within the next 2 months and my goal is a 720 but my minimum target is a 700. At work, I've co-led diversity and inclusion events/programming for the last few years, I've also had leadership roles in our Asian network and usually mentor 1-2 associates each year for the last 2 years. I've also been involved in recruiting at universities including interviewing & onboarding. Outside of work, I am passionate about health and fitness. I train and compete in olympic weightlifting and powerlifting locally, and I played on a competitive club volleyball team during undergrad for a semester. Because of this passion, my ideal career would be to work on brands and products that empower consumers. In my undergraduate career, I held officer roles in the Hispanic Business Student Association and American Marketing Association and I continue to mentor students in those organizations. I am trying to narrow down my school list and understand where I would be a competitive candidate.
