vectoral Likes Earned: 17 Hi -- this is the OP here. Didn't realize people actually read these/provided feedback, otherwise I would have put in more info! I listened to the episode and appreciate the advice. As to your comments: - I have a mechanical engineering undergrad from a service academy and MEng in sustainable energy engineering, so technical, but not computer sciency - long term goal is starting a fitness-focused software company (I'm an avid triathlete); this may change once in business school since right now I really just don't know much about business - I have reached out to the veterans' groups and service to school -- they've all been a great help - I have spoken to several students and/or employees for large software companies and it seems like this is a path that works/is recommended for my short term goals - only concern of mine is I don't want to look like a "degree collector" since I already have an MEng in an unrelated field that I don't really want to work in (1)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1677 Glad you enjoyed the episode. I’d guess your goal is quite a competitive space (lots of fitness-related apps already out there). That might be something to consider. Re being a “degree collector”, just make sure you justify why the MBA is important to enable your transition. I might wonder if you need a dual degree, maybe just some comp sci course work instead? (0)
