My bachelor's degree is in Marketing, with a GPA of 2.7. Due to a family member's hardship, I had to balance my responsibilities at home with my academic pursuits.

After graduation, I worked as a data scientist in the business department of a Fortune 500 company for 3years, achieving top performance. Later, I pursued a master's degree in business analytics, earning a GPA of 3.79 at a well-known public university in the United States.

For approximately 2 years, I have been a data scientist in the business department of a top automotive company in the U.S., and I have also volunteered for data science and analytics at the American Red Cross for approximately 3 years.

I want pivot to consulting, specifically focusing on the automotive sector. My personality naturally gravitates towards engaging with people rather than solely working with machines. This transition aligns with my desire for more human interaction and the opportunity to apply my analytical skills in a consultative role.

Showing impact and growth at work, will be very important, backed up by strong recs.

The weakness will be your undergrad record. But it looks like you’ve done everything you can to mitigate that with a stellar test score (both times) and a very decent graduate transcript. Explaining the “why MBA” in the context of pursuing a second masters degree, will also be important.

anon32758 Likes Earned: 2 Thanks for your prompt reply. My post-consulting goal is to return to the automotive industry, focusing on the manufacturing side. Currently, I am heavily involved in the auto aftermarket. I believe that consulting experience will expose me to a wider range of automotive issues, helping me understand not only how the industry operates but also the unique challenges faced by different companies. This will give me a more comprehensive understanding of the industry once I come back. I love data science, but it definitely won't be my entire life. In fact, I approach problems more like a businessman than a tech-savvy individual. So, yes, I added my personal interests, like hiking, to my resume to present a more well-rounded picture of myself.
