Notes:

I’m a URM (Hispanic, low-income background) senior studying Economics and Portuguese at a T15 college. Before that, I attended a top 3 New England boarding school on a full scholarship. My GRE score is composed of 165 in Quant and 164 in Verbal, and I am applying to deferred MBA programs in the current cycle.

I have multiple internships at reputable CRE firms before transitioning to IB, and I’ll be joining an Energy/Infrastructure IB group in a T2 city after graduation. The goal is to move into Infra PE post-IB, then gain more investing experience after my MBA before eventually launching my own fund. I’m fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and hope to focus on LatAm infrastructure and renewable energy (likely in Brazil) later in my career.

For extracurriculars, I’ve worked at my school’s career center, served as an Economics TA and liaison, mentored middle school boys through a local nonprofit, and formally coached students for IB/finance recruiting through an external organization for the past three years. Another major goal of mine is to start an educational foundation in South America, where my family is from, as a way to give back. I’ve received the support of many generous organizations and mentors throughout my life, and I want to create similar opportunities for others. While I don’t think any of my ECs are particularly standout, I’ve dedicated much of my time in college to mentoring and uplifting younger students and peers. I expect fairly strong rec letters from a well-regarded professor and a senior associate I worked with during my IB internship.
