Love the podcast and enjoy listening on my way to work! I graduated from top 20 undergrad and previously worked as an operations associate at a small mutual fund and a controller at a small fund of hedge funds. Love investment industry and would like to stay in it, but pivot to more of an analysis role instead of accounting. I have my CPA and CFA. Note that after 5 years in investment management, I naturalized as a US citizen and felt so patriotic I commissioned as an officer in the US Marine Corps. Been doing that the last 3 years, and have one more to go. I'm a Manpower planner, lead a team of 8, and have worked with counterparts from allied countries in Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Australia, and the Philippines on various exercises. I'm forward stationed in Japan for 3 years and have done 2 deployments (one to Australia, one on ship patrolling throughout the IndoPacific). Also published in military journal. Felt like after 4 years out of industry, I needed an MBA to smooth my transition back to civilian life. That's what everyone in my old network is telling me too. Extracurriculars: Trilingual (Chinese and French), volunteering (art non-profit board member, pro-bono financial consulting for non-profits, various veteran non-profits, financial tutor and English teacher), hobbies (programmer, musician, artist, Marine Corps Martial Arts Program brown belt), awards (dean's honor list, undergrad scholarships, various personal military decorations). Would love to get your take!
