Would really appreciate any advice on my profile!

Have worked in consumer insights for 4 years (3 promotions, currently at a manager level), with a focus on marketing campaign evaluations for global CPG and Media brands. I'm pursuing MBA as I want to pivot into a Marketing role client-side, continuing to work with CPG brands.

I'm retaking GRE soon as I got stressed and messed up the Quant section a bit. Got 165 on Verbal, aiming to get 320 - 325 overall.

Due to family reasons, I'd have to stay within a commutable distance to New York. Columbia and Stern are my reach schools. I'll be applying to Rutgers, CUNY, and Fordham as my safety net. Thinking of applying to Yale as well but I'm not sure how it would work with commuting. Are there any other options I should consider?

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1675 Are you from the UK? I'm guessing you have somewhere to live, in NYC, for your MBA? Commuting to a FT MBA will be a challenge, you really want to live in close proximity of the school, and fellow students. Work experience sounds interesting, important to show impact at work. Are you involved in activities outside of work? Be good to get 320+ on the GRE, with a 160+ on the quant side. (0)

anon41318 Likes Earned: 12 OP here - yes, I'm from the UK. Yes, exactly, that's one of the reasons why I'm applying to schools there. Staying in NYC would help me cut down the total cost significantly as I wouldn't have to cover living expenses. Plus, I much prefer the 2-year structure. I have ECs (e.g. volunteering at several hospitals but I didn't have a clear leadership role as I enjoyed working directly with patients). I'll my best try to ace the GRE! That's a good point about commuting - I was trying to think of other potential schools. (0)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1675 If you ace th GRE, I'd be tempted to look at additional schools, outside of NYC, where I'd live. Measure those against Columbia and Stern. Cost of living outside NYC will provide some savings. I'd really try to avoid commuting to a full time program. (0)
