I have 3 years experience working in Business Development/Sales at a Technology Consulting company (Similar to Accenture/Capgemini) - and have been promoted twice, and now leading a national team. My main responsibility is working with C-Suite and Technology leaders in my clients (a multibillion dollar bank & an Ivy League University) to understand what components of their business are holding them back, and strategize how we can modernize their business with technology & analytical solutions.
I've been able to build portfolio of $10MM+ in renewable revenue for my firm - and we've now added 10 additional team members who I lead from a strategy and development perspective to grow that portfolio.
Despite this being a great experience, my passion leans more towards the problem solving and strategy part of my job than the sales part. Through casing with other MBA Grads I've realized that the depth at which they understand the different components of business allows them to put pieces together quicker and be more creative in a problem solving setting.
My goals in the short term would be to get into an MBB consulting firm after MBA - and in the long term I'd like to transition into a company focused on social impact globally (think UNICEF or Gates Foundation).
I come from a military family, and giving back by working in a global NGO like these would be my way of giving back similar to my relatives.
Would love to hear how I can improve or tweak my school list! Love the podcast, thanks for everything you guys do!
