Want to gain a better understanding of business, operations, finance, etc to combine with background in healthcare/data science. Goal is to work in healthcare consulting or for large non-profit (eg Gates foundation) post MBA. Want to use MBA to transition from research to implementation/operations side of healthcare.

anon33085 Likes Earned: 0 Thanks for your comment! Leaning towards applying next cycle (intake 2026) so I’ll have one more year of experience and hopefully a promotion. Might also have a first author publication in top journal by then. I played a sport in college so main activity now is playing in a co-ed league for that sport. Might also try to start volunteer coaching a few hours each week if possible. Im struggling to get an idea of how admissions committees will view my background since it’s so unorthodox like you mentioned. Would it be looked at favorably because it is different? (0)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1646 It could be, especially if you are able to show impact and growth. That’s the challenge, while being unorthodox, still excelling by the more traditional metrics. Of course, impact and growth can be measured in many different ways.

Volunteer coaching would be good, no doubt.
