Hi Graham & Alex. I'm writing because I haven't heard a situation like mine on the podcast yet. I dropped out of high school in 2009. At the time I was working as a cashier for a tour company. After a few years I was promoted to operations manager and helped open a new division which made 3.5M in sales the first year. I left there to work for a printing company as their operations manager. During my time there we did two mergers and went from 14 employees to 50. I then enlisted in the Army and passed a selection into a special operations unit (The 75th Ranger Regiment). Deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. I left active duty (in the national guard now) in February and immediately went to school. I earned an AA in May (I took some classes while on active duty) and am currently a Junior holding a 3.9 gpa at CSUF. Haven't taken the GMAT yet, but plan on taking it this summer (which will give me plenty of time to re-test as needed). Here's the big question I have: With 13 years of work experience, but none post-undergrad, would you recommend a one-year or traditional two-year program?
Since I always hear you wondering about extracurriculars / being able to immerse myself as a 33 year old (currently 31), I'm an avid camper and joined the adventure club on campus. I also box in my free time and even competed at an event called Ranger Rendezvous while in the Army.
PS. I found your podcast earlier this year and listen to it everyday on my drive from LA to CSUF.
