I have experience managing a local non-profit, M&A Paralegal work at a international law firm and working as a Real Estate paralegal at 2 different private equity firms. While at the non-profit, I expanded the community partnerships, increased the number of affordable housing to those in need and successfully managed a budget of an impact fund geared towards providing affordable housing. At the first PE firm, I was on a team where we raised $40 million for an affordable housing fund that we launched in 3 states. My role is to led the executive team through due diligence making sure deadlines are met. We increased the amount of affordable housing in our portfolio by 40%. The other private equity focused on commercial real estate. While there, I convinced the executive team to adopt a data driven software where they were able to cut down on time in underwriting targets.
As for community involvement, I co-founded a real estate educational organization where I taught average people how to underwrite real estate. In addition, I was on the jobs and economic development taskforce where we connected companies with residents in need of employment. I was also a board advisory member at a local community hospital. I have a gap year on my resume which was during covid. I quit my job to spend more time advising the board on the best way to get covid treatments to residents in need. In addition, I served as an advisor to the same nonprofit that hired me during that period as they expanded to other cities. My role was to advise on dealing with community conflict and distrust.
MY GOALS:
Short-term goal: I want to go into Operations Consulting where I can gain the financial analysis that can be applied to my long term goal which is to build my own affordable housing firm.
