INSEAD Offers 10 Tips for Creating (and Sustaining) Successful Partnerships

Corporate partnerships are vital to success, and the number of companies forming these alliances is growing all the time. Between 2002 and 2011, companies formed nearly 42,000 partnerships, according to Greve Rowley and Shipilov. The reason behind this growth is the fact that partnerships offer significant cost and speed advantages for companies. According to INSEAD director of business innovation Paul Sanders, they bring substantial value. Unfortunately, many partnerships fail—60 to 70 percent according to Jonathan Hughes and Jeff Weiss. One of INSEAD’s major selling points is its language policy, which requires that students speak English fluently and moderately well in a second language. By the time the program wraps, INSEAD MBAs must be able to speak a “third, commercially useful, language at A2 'Basic' level in order to graduate.” Since languages play such an integral role in an INSEAD education, it may come as no surprise that the school offers intensive language courses in both Spanish and French. 2018 Financial Times Ranking of Top European Business Schools

The 2018 Financial Times ranking of top European business schools was just released. After an in-depth review of schools across Europe, FT completed its list of the 95 schools including 25 in France and 22 in the UK, seven in Germany, and a handful in all other countries. When looking at this ranking, it’s important to pay attention to the methodology and what it indicates. INSEAD Conference Campaigns Business as Force for Good

Business can be a “force for good,” according to the latest conference at INSEAD. The inaugural Force for Good Conference, hosted on the Europe campus in Fontainebleau, brought together more than 620 attendees to share how business can produce positive outcomes for society. A wide range of business leaders and academics gathered for the October 5th conference to share their views, experiences, and strategies for how business can promote a better world. INSEAD Alums Call Current Students “Soft Eggs” as Hazing Complaints Cancel MBA Welcome Week

For the first time in 35 years, the INSEAD MBA Welcome Week was cancelled after two students complained of demeaning initiation ceremonies. According to the Financial Times (FT), the students told authorities that they had been tricked into taking part in “humiliating” rituals during the week. The Comité National Contre le Bizutage (the French National Committee Against Hazing) launched an investigation to review these accusations, but details of the complaints have yet to be made public.
