Morgan Stanley Still Loves MBAs and the Feeling Is Mutual
Though interest in finance careers has never completely recovered after the global crisis of 2008, investment banks like J.P. Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley are still in-demand recruiters among many MBA students. (Although this just in: J.P. Morgan Chase is letting go of 100 people in its asset management group after a business review, according to this Aug. 22nd report in Bloomberg BusinessWeek.)
Even absent a complete rebound, finance proved the third most sought-after post-MBA industry among recent business school graduates surveyed in 2017, according to a recent Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) study. It also boasted the third-highest average annual base salary ($115,000), trailing only general management ($125,000) and IT/MIS ($120,000).
