Cornell Johnson MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Zoom
This was a really laid back interview with an adcom. It lasted about 25 minutes and essentially went over my background, why MBA, why Johnson, and my plan for recruiting. Not much more to it than that. I got the impression that they really just wanted to know that I had a well thought out plan to get an MBA and transition to my chosen career path. Interviewer had access to my resume and some notes from other adcom, but had not reviewed my application.

IESE MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Meet
Overall very conversational and chilled atmosphere. No tricky questions. – Why IESE? – Tell me a time you dealt with a conflict within your team. – Tell me a time you received negative feedback and what you learned from it. – How do you deal with stressful moments/periods? – Do you have any Plan B should your career goal not work out? – Where else have you applied and is IESE your first choice? – Questions for me?

INSEAD MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / Alumnus / Online Teams Meeting
My first interview was conducted by an alumnus who graduated in 2020. The overall interview lasted an hour and a half, which was longer than most of my other interviews, but he was very pleasant and open so it wasn’t very taxing. The overall flow of questions: 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. Explain your career choices (From undergraduate to now). 3. Why MBA? 4. Why INSEAD? 5. Short-term and Long-term goals? 6. Campus choices and Geography preferences post-MBA? 7. Questions for him. Most of the interview was an informal interaction and very

Cornell Johnson MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
Had my interview with a 2nd-year student. Very conversational mostly seemed to be digging into my background because it is non-standard (military) and my goals because they too are non-standard (construction/real estate/development). Great experience overall. 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. What are you looking to get out of an MBA? 3. Goals? 4. I didn’t get any explicit TMAT questions – just about my experience in project management, recruiting plan, back-up plan. Lasted a little over 30 minutes with my questions at the end included in time (roughly 20-minute interview, 10-minutes for questions from me).

Carnegie Mellon Tepper MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Zoom
My interviewer was extremly friendly and nice, she laid out the structure of the interview and told me that they have read my whole application so it was not a blind interview. 1. Give me your 1min elevator pitch (then she introduced herself). 2. What criteria did you look for when searching b-schools? (I incorporated why Tepper into this) 3. Why MBA? 4. ST/LT goal? 5. TMAT you helped other people in your team. 6. What does DEI mean to you and how have you embodied DEI throughout your life? 7. TMAT you dealt

Berkeley Haas MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / On Campus
My interview was conducted by an alumnus in-person, on campus. The interviewer only had access to my resume prior to the interview, and they matched the interviewer to me based on my job experience and goals. I found the interview to be harder than other MBA interviews based on the tone of the interview (much more serious, high pressure, frequent interjections) as well as unexpected questions asked. The interviewer grilled me about my quantitative and analytics experience as well as my knowledge of the industry/discipline I would like to pivot into (product management in tech or fintech). 1. Why MBA/

UVA Darden MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
Extremely relaxed interview. The student told me to walk through my life leading up to the Darden MBA, and include the motivations for each of my major decision ending with the Why MBA/Now/Darden questions. He asked some simple follow up questions throughout. He had not seen any information about me prior to the interview. Something interesting is that this interviewer and I had a ton in common across our education/career backgrounds and future goals. I don’t know if I just lucked out or if that was by design from the adcom, but it made for a great interview experience.

CBS MBA Interview Questions & Report: Rolling / Alumnus / Off Campus
Was matched with the interviewer in my city (London) and arranged to meet him about 3 weeks after the invite due to his schedule as I wanted to meet in person. I was able to do a bit of research on him prior to the interview, which was a plus so I knew some stuff we could talk about. The questions which I was asked were: Tell me about yourself. Why do you want an MBA? How will that help you with your goals? Why Columbia? Why not a different MBA program? What would you do if a more elite

Interviewed online with an alum, local to my city. It was very easy going and friendly to talk to. 1. Why an MBA and why Ross? 2. Why now? 3. Tell me about a time you’ve received negative feedback. 4. Tell me about your experience working with someone different from you. 5. Tell me about a time when you’ve had to deal with ambiguity or a challenge. 6. Tell about something that you’ve done that’s had an impact. Ended with some questions for the interviewer, which they answered very thoroughly.

Georgetown McDonough MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
My interview was with a 2nd-year student. It lasted 45 minutes. I’ve had six interviews so far. This one was my first that was an actual conversation rather than an interview. He gave feedback and asked follow-up questions for all of my answers. We flowed together in the same direction rather than the specific set of predetermined questions. Tell me about yourself. Walk me through your resume. Tell me about a time you failed and how you learned from that experience. What has been your greatest achievement? What are your short- and long-term goals? Why McDonough? How will you choose

Duke Fuqua MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
The interview was very conversational and easy going. It lasted an hour and went by very quickly since it felt like two friends talking. The second-year student was a fellow vet and only had my resume. List of interview questions: – Tell me about yourself. – Why an MBA? – ST/LT goals? – Why Fuqua? – What will you add to Team Fuqua? – If you could go back from now to the first day of work, would you change anything? – Tell me a time you have experienced bad leadership, what made

INSEAD MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / Alumni / Google Meet
There were two interviews, one hour each. One interview was very very tough. Both interviews focused on my goal after the MBA. Since my goal is about opening a social enterprise that is financial viable on its own, both interviews were grilling me on ROI and one even asked me to do an impromptu pitch. There are also some standard questions: 1. Why MBA / why INSEAD / why now? 2. Tell me about your accomplishment story. 3. Tell me about your reasons for each professional move. 4. Tell me about how you work in a

INSEAD MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / Alumnus / Off-Campus
I was put in touch with an alumnus in my city and we arranged over email to meet up in person at a cafe. It was a very relaxed and casual conversation, but she had a list of questions she needed to ask (must be something provided by the adcom): 1) Run me through your resume, particularly why you picked each role or changed jobs. 2) Tell me about a leadership experience you had. 3) Tell me about a time you experienced culture shock. 4) Why do you want to do an MBA and why at INSEAD?

It was a pretty short and standard questions interview. It lasted around 25 minutes and 5 minutes for questions to the interviewer at the end. Questions: 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. Why MBA? 3. How do you see Ross contributing to achieving these goals? (as I told him that the MBA would help me to achieve my future goals) 4. Tell a time you received negative feedback. 5. Tell me a time you led a team. He was an alumnus and was friendly and relaxed. After his questions, I asked him about

Vanderbilt Owen MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Virtual
The interview is blind – they only have access to your resume. As far as the questions go, there weren’t any curveballs; I got ones regarding obstacles I’ve overcome, short/long-term goals, how I work in diverse settings, why Owen, why MBA, strengths/weaknesses, etc. There was about 10 minutes at the end to ask the interviewer some questions of my own. Overall, it wasn’t a tough interview, but I would have liked if it were a bit more conversational.

UCLA Anderson MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On Campus
Very conversational and enjoyable. Nothing difficult at all. The interviewer made sure to keep to 30mins. I flew in to do the interview because I know most aren’t doing them IRL and I wanted to be able to see the campus. Would definitely recommend others do that as well. Questions were basic ones others have said: – Tell me about yourself. – Why MBA? Why Anderson? – Plan B? – TMAAT when you were a part of a team.

Northwestern Kellogg MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Virtual
Alum was very responsive and friendly when we set up the virtual interview. When the interview started, he set the stage and expressed that he was trying to create a low-stress, casual conversation. Also, he emphasized strongly that his notes on the interview were just a small part of my application and that the Kellogg Adcom are very holistic in how they review candidates. We had a good conversation that flowed through questions that came up naturally–no surprises. The questions were: 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why MBA? 3. Why Kellogg? 4. What do you

Had my Kellogg interview with an alumnus, over Zoom – it was a blind interview and they had only seen my resume. We exchanged emails prior to the interview to set up a date and time. They were super candid when answering all my questions. 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. What does your day-to-day look like? 3. Why MBA? 4. Could you achieve your goals without an MBA? 5. My interviewer was friendly and it felt like a casual conversation as if I was networking with some employee. He asked me a couple questions on what is the purpose of the app and how I was able to achieve that purpose through my work. The app I work on is for improving collaboration among employees and the interviewer asked me, “All interactions are meant

Berkeley Haas MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumnus / Google Meet
Interview date – Nov 2nd 2022 Result – Admitted I have heard that Haas interviews have 1 or 2 unexpected questions. I felt it during my interview as well. Haas gives importance to diversity – that is evident from their website and they ask a question related to DEI in the interview for sure. The interview was scheduled for 45 minutes, but went for more than an hour. The interviewer was writing down a few points in between. The interview was neither very casual nor very strict. It was a healthy discussion. Here are the questions I was asked:
