Cornell Johnson Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Skype
The interview was very friendly and conversational. Fairly conventional and nothing particularly surprising, though it was highly tailored to my resume and background. There was definitely a strong focus on why Cornell specifically and it seemed like the interviewer was trying to assess my interest in the school. I definitely got the sense that Johnson has a strong and tight-knit culture from how the interviewer interacted with me and talked about his experience. Questions: 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why are you getting an MBA? 3. Why Cornell Johnson? 4. Have you spoken with

MIT Sloan Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Zoom
The interview – application + two pre-interview essays-based – felt like a genuine free-flowing conversation rather than interviewing with a person who needs to go through a specific set of questions before the interview ends (the feeling one has when interviewing with students and alumni). It lasted for about 40 minutes and was extremely enjoyable. The interviewer seemed to have enjoyed it as well and was very amicable (contrary to what I’ve read online, the interview was far from being “too serious,” and the adcom tried to make me feel comfortable). Given the interview is application-based and personal, I think

LBS Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Virtual Interview
Had a fairly conversational interview with an alum that consisted of the standard questions (Tell me about yourself, why MBA, why LBS) as well as some questions about my resume and behavioral questions. My interviewer had already read through my application so there wasn’t a ton of probing questions on my motivations for b-school since it was already in the app. One unexpected question was what other schools I was applying to- makes sense since LBS is very concerned about yield, so this is important to have a good answer prepared about why you would prefer LBS vs. other schools.

Yale SOM Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
Interviewed with a second-year student working in an unrelated field to me. Very relaxed, resume-based interview. No surprises, they follow a script. Biggest professional achievement? ST/LT goals Why MBA? Why Yale? How will you contribute to diversity at Yale? Tell me about your quote? A time when you listened to someone and they changed your mind (using active listening). Overall advice is to keep your story straight and practice a lot. The 30 mins time constraint is strict. Have 2-3 max questions at them for the end. Good luck to whoever is reading this!

UNC Kenan-Flagler Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Skype
The interview was with an adcom and it was application based. She informed me at the start that she did have access to my entire application. It was a fairly standard interview, asking about my past experience. She asked why Kenan-Flagler specifically. She also asked about the diversity component in the application and how my current job works with diverse backgrounds. Not much surprised me throughout, there were no curveball questions.

Northwestern Kellogg Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Skype
My interview was taken by an Adcom member who was quite aged. The conversation was friendly, totally stress-free. I had to repeat a few of my answers because she wasn’t able to hear me properly. The interview spanned for around 50 mins. She aimed to keep it short as she had several other interviews to be done that same day. Below are the questions I was asked: 1. Walk me through your resume. – Several follow-ups on my experience to get a feel of what exactly my responsibilities are and on the choices I had made regarding my career.

Duke Fuqua Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Zoom
The interview was conversational. The interviewer kept the mood lighthearted, yet the questions were quite insightful. I had a long interview, lasted an hour and a quarter, but I didn’t seem to notice the time when I was interviewing. Questions- Tell me about yourself. Why MBA? Which schools have you applied to, where does Fuqua stand on the list? Some of my entrepreneurial ideas. Example of a leadership experience, what did I learn from it? One weakness? Who is my role model? How have I emulated those qualities in my career?

London Business School Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Zoom
The interview was application-based, very conversational, and lasted for about 1.5 hours. It was conducted virtually via Zoom by an alumnus based in my country. The experience was enjoyable as the conversation felt natural and amicable. They emphasised that the interview is merely a part of the process and not a decisive factor in the final decision. They told me of past examples when applicants they enjoyed interviewing weren’t accepted, while applicants they thought were “mediocre at best” were admitted. They believe the interviews aren’t playing a unique role compared to other elements of the application. The interviewer was intelligent,

USC Marshall Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Zoom
Interviewer began by saying this was just an opportunity to learn more about me, and that it was resume-based. These were the questions I was asked (not in the correct order and I may be missing a few). How did you hear about USC Marshall? What are a few traits you admire in a leader? Follow up, is there anyone that comes to mind in your life that emulates these traits? What skills are you most proud of? What is your 10-year plan? How do you go about setting and achieving goals? How will

Berkeley Haas Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Google Meets
My interview was mostly school-specific, with some behavioral questions. I think it was supposed to be resume-based, but he didn’t ask much about it. It was extremely conversational and there was good rapport. Lasted for an hour, but we were done with questions for me after 35. The questions (may not be exact, but the gist should be there) included: (Notably, did not ask me to walk him through my resume, which threw me off big time since I had to work it in a bit as I talked about why an MBA/why Haas?) Why an MBA? Why

Resume-based interview with first-year student. Interview was very conversational with the following questions: Why Georgetown McDonough? Why MBA? Short term and long term goals? Talk about your leadership style. Still awaiting admissions decision, which will be released in mid-March. Interview was conversational with a handful of prepared questions and the interviewer was able to share about the program and the clubs/organizations offered on campus. Was surprised by how many “Centers” on policy and business offered by McDonough as a partnership between students/faculty and business leaders. Notably the Center for Financial Markets and Policy has still been very

Yale SOM Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
Interviewed with a 2Y student. Very casual but structured, lasted about the 30 minute mark. He told me that the questions are predetermined. 1. I won’t ask you to go through the whole resume, maybe choose one professional experience where you succeeded at something and talk about what the outcome was. 2. Next question that I have for you is around broad mindedness. So, a lot of the recruiters often tell us that SOM graduates lead by knowing not only when to speak, but also by knowing when to listen. So if you could tell me about a professional experience

Chicago Booth Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
The interview was conversational like all the other reports. I suspect the Booth interviews vary a bit depending on who you get as the interviewer. I was expecting more questions around “Why MBA, Why Booth, Goals etc.” from the other reports, but the majority of the interview time (30+mins) was spent on behavioral questions in my case. About 10mins was spent on Why MBA, Why Booth etc. and there was some time in the end for my questions. Questions that I can recall (not necessarily in this order. There was time spent on follow up questions & comments): -Interviewer
