UVA Darden Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / On-Campus
Opted for on-campus interview. I was told by a friend (2nd-year Darden student) that the interview would be random and blind (either adcom or 2nd yr student). Greeted by the adcom and led to his office. Asked if he wanted a copy of my resume and was told hearing me tell my story was the preferred option. So the following questions were asked: 1) Tell me about yourself, your early experiences, values, decisions. 2) What kind of clients do you work with? How did you make the decision to join the industry/company? 3) What role do you usually

Stanford GSB Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Off-Campus
I don’t think I’m adding much new information here with this report, as my interview was very similar to all the other reports here. I called the interviewer the day I got the invite and we set up a time that worked with his schedule in the 7-10 day window requested by the GSB. We used a walk-up conference room off the lobby of his office for our scheduled 1-hour meeting. We began by exchanging pleasantries and chatted for a bit before he explained the usual (behavioral interview, he’d be writing notes, don’t be bothered by it, time for questions

Michigan Ross Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
Interviewed at Michigan Ross in Ann Arbor. Broken into halves in a total room full of 70 or so interviewing students. I was part of the second group so we were first spoken to by various student led organization leads. When it was time for my group’s interviews, we were all led to the elevators and went to central room where the interviewers were waiting. He was looking for me so we shook hands and had about a 3-minute walk on the way to our interview room so we had some small talk. Interview generally flowed like this: (interviewer

Michigan Ross Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Off-Campus
My interviewer was an alumnus (19′) and was very nice, open, and friendly. Since we work in the same building, the conversation started off naturally and was a good ice breaker. The first intro was in Japanese, interview was all in English, and QA was in Japanese. It was mostly behavioral questions and we actually spent 20 mins or so on QA. It lasted about 60 mins. Below is the debrief of the questions he asked. What do you want me to ask about you? Tell me about a time you worked in a team. How did you overcome the

Michigan Ross Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On Campus
I interviewed on campus with a 2nd-year student. The interviews take place in two sessions in the morning – a blue round, and a maize round. I was in the first round, so I interviewed around 8:40am. My interview was very conversational. We chatted for about 5-10 minutes before even getting into the classic “Tell me about yourself.” It was in a small conference room and the interviewer typed notes as I talked and made eye contact occasionally and asked follow-ups. Questions asked: Tell me about yourself. Why MBA / Why Now / Goals? Why Ross? Time you had a

Yale SOM MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
Questions asked: Please tell me a little more about your current role. Why do you want an MBA? Greatest success? Biggest failure? What will you contribute to Yale SOM? Notes: The interview itself was very conversational. The interviewer, a 2nd-year student, told me that it was blind. Only thing that threw me off in the beginning was the fact that my interviewer said the interview would be an hour long. Was 30 minutes on the dot, including questions I had for my interviewer. Yale SOM seems to make a spectacle out of the interview days, going as far to

Chicago Booth MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alum / Off-campus
It was a blind interview with an alumni, who graduated from Booth almost 10 years ago. She was working at a pharmaceutical company, so this helped her resonate with the examples I gave while walking through my resume. The interview was much more detailed that I expected and she probed me to elaborate on my past work experience and extracurriculars with follow up questions. Walk me through your resume. What did you learn from your volunteering experience? (Regarding my internship at Strategic Planning at Coca Cola) What were the insights you gathered through a specific project? How did pursuing a

UCLA Anderson Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Skype
The interview was relaxed and conversational. It was a blind interview, as the interviewer only had access to my resume. The questions followed a pattern that seems consistent with other reports. The interview began with the interviewer detailing some of his background – he had a CS degree, worked in tech consulting and was attending Anderson to move to Tech PM role. He asked the following questions: 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. Why an MBA? 3. Why now? 4. Why Anderson? 5. What do you want to do after the MBA? 6. What other

Emory Goizueta Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / AdCom / Skype
My interview was with Heather Holland, a member of the Admissions Committee. She started the interview by introducing herself and gave a brief overview of what a blind interview is. She was nice and friendly right off the bat. Questions I was asked: 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why do you want an MBA and why now? 3. What are some of the things you considered when selecting a school for your MBA? 4. How will you contribute to the Emory community if you are admitted? 5. How will you contribute to the

UCLA Anderson Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Skype
Very chill interview, with the student asking me to walk through my resume and tell all of my “why stories” (i.e. why an MBA, why UCLA, why now, why your current career, etc.). We spent about 20-25 minutes on me and spent the last portion of the interview asking him questions about the program. The Skype session was very easy to set up and the process was very professional.

Michigan / Ross MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-year student / On Campus
I attended the Interview Day event that ran from 8am to 3pm. After breakfast and short introductions from the adcom, half of the interviewees were taken to interview while the other half interacted with staff and students associated with different Ross clubs. The interview itself with the MBA2 was casual, and conversational. I got asked to walk through my resume, and then my interviewer began asking me questions from there. He asked, tell me about a time you led a team to resolve a conflict. The rest of the conversation was based on things on my resume my interviewer wanted

Chicago Booth MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Off Campus Hub
The interview was very conversational. I really felt like the interviewer was genuinely interested in learning about my experience and asked many clarifying questions. The questions below are just what I could remember: He spent a few moments introducing his career and experience at Booth. Questions: How did you get to where you are today? What are your three strengths and three areas of improvement? Detailed / specifics about my resume (team management & collaboration/diversity) What is your 5-yr 10-yr plan and how does Booth fit into that? Asked more details about my desired academic path at Booth Why an

Dartmouth / Tuck MBA Interview Questions & Report: R2 / Second-year Student / On-Campus
Applicant-initiated interview on-campus. It was a pretty good interview; most of the questions were in line with my expectations. They really do turn it into a full day at Tuck, which I thought made a lot of sense (they are clearly aware that they’re at a relative disadvantage due to location, and know they really need people to fall in love with the culture / vibe of the school). I personally really enjoyed the day and true to form, everyone was incredibly nice and helpful. Walk me through your resume. Why an MBA / why Tuck? Tell me about a

UCLA Anderson Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-year Student / On-Campus
This was during their “Super Saturday” interview day, so there were about 100 other students on campus that had interviews. During this day there was also scheduled programming like lunch, panels, and hearing from faculty. A very structured day and I left feeling great about the school. Questions: Walk me through your resume. What are your goals? My interviewer also asked me to elaborate on my long-term goal. What was my vision and what soft-skills will I need to make it a reality. This one caught me off guard! Why Anderson? What are your strengths and weaknesses? Tell me about a

Why did you choose your undergrad major? 3. Walk me through your resume 4. (She was referring to the ECs on my resume) What is the most meaningful EC you’ve done on this list? 5. Interviewed as part of full day visit schedule. Other activities include a class visit, campus tour (led by a 1st year student), lunch with two 1st year students, and an info session with adcom members. Honestly, the interview was not even the most memorable part of the day for me. One thing you should keep in mind is that the other interviewees on campus with you will know a lot about Tuck already. The Tuckie mindset starts very early for applicants – so go prepared. Talk to students ahead of time; you don’t want to be the one who cannot

UCLA Anderson Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Skype
Interview was very conversational and it was quicker than I thought (30 min). The questions were: Walk me through your resume. Why MBA? Why Anderson? What will you do instead if your post-MBA plan doesn’t work out? What triggered you to follow your post-MBA goal? (I said I wanted to switch from brand management to social impact consulting, so she wanted me to elaborate on my motivation and how this career goal developed for me over time.) 5 minutes were left for my questions, so I asked 2 questions. Overall, I can say that my experience is really positive and

Toronto / Rotman Interview Questions & Report: R2 / Adcom / Skype
I had the interview through Skype with an Adcom member. The interview was quite relaxed and the adcom member was very friendly. He’s someone I am familiar with. I had a conversation with him through Skype in September 2019 when I was researching schools to apply to, and I interacted with him again briefly during the MBA Tour. Here are some of the questions that he asked which I remember; What can you tell me about your resume after undergraduate? When did you develop an interest in Rotman, and why Canada? Fuqua / Duke MBA Interview Questions & Report: Early Action / Second-Year Student / On-campus
The interview was with a second-year student. It was blind, he had only my curriculum. He first introduced himself and asked me to do the same. Then he asked me some questions: why Fuqua? How can I contribute to Fuqua? Why diversity was important for me (I mentioned it)? Mention a situation where you had a conflict with your boss and how you handle it? He also made me choose a point of my curriculum and talk about it and made me some questions about what I said. And finally, he asked me if I had questions for him

Interviewer atmosphere was serious/to the point. Interview lasted an hour in length. The questions comprised of mostly traditional questions with a few oddballs: -Tell me about yourself? -Why an MBA? -Why Fuqua? -Standard “Tell me about a time” questions Oddballs: -If you had to build a team, what attributes would you build based off of? -What does “Team Fuqua” mean to you? -Describe your communication style using three words? I was admitted. The interview was challenging, but nothing too crazy and very doable as long as you do prep on the school and know

Fuqua / Duke MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumnus / Off-campus Shanghai
This was done at 11 am on a Saturday at the 23rd floor of a Marriott hotel in Shanghai. I was the only foreigner there that I could tell. I arrived a little earlier, and joined a bunch of other candidates who were there for the 11 am interviews (others had been scheduled for a 10 am interview). It seemed everyone was a little nervous, and all interviews were being done by alum. I had to wait until 11:05 until my interviewer was ready for me. It was a pretty quick chat, very informal and friendly. There was the typical

NYU Stern MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Off-Campus Shanghai
30 minute interview in an office in NYU Shanghai. I booked it in the morning at 10:30 so the office itself was really empty. I booked it with an admissions officer, who had already looked through my files. Her first question was “what do you wish for me to ask you?” which took me by surprise and I didn’t have a good response. The interview went a little downhill from there. She had clearly read my materials, so she went through the typical why NYU, why MBA, whether I was stuck on my career path or would I listen to
