MIT Sloan MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Off-campus
An MIT Sloan MBA interview report with questions was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant off-campus: These reports helped me prepare my interview a lot, so here’s giving back to the community! I applied for LGO class of 2021 Round 1. My interview was with Ms Dawna Levenson in early November in London. The experience was very pleasant, not as structured as I anticipated – it was a lot more like a conversation rather than just questions & answers. We started with ~10 minutes on the company I work for and exactly what I do, as

Northwestern / Kellogg MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom (with student observer in room) / On-campus
A Northwestern / Kellogg MBA interview report with a few important questions to note was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant on-campus accompanied by a student observer. The interview was in-line with what I expected and stuck to the 30 minute time frame. The adcom representative started off by asking me questions about: why I chose my undergrad college why I’d chosen my first job why I’d made a recent switch The interview included fairly standard interview questions: tell us about a time you showed leadership, took a risk, worked with a group of people different than

MIT Sloan MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On-campus
An MIT Sloan MBA interview report with questions was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant on-campus: I interviewed in the afternoon on campus. I spent the morning participating in a coffee chat with current students, attending a class, and then having lunch with current students. Overall the visit was well-programmed and really drove home how approachable and welcoming the MIT Sloan community is. We were told that interviews would last 30-45 minutes, and that they are behavioral event-based interviews (BEI), which are essentially deep-dives on behavioral questions and past actions. My interviewer was a staff member of

Laid-back, relaxed interview atmosphere. Blind (only resume available) interview. Interview lasted 45 minutes. Pretty standard interview questions and nothing too difficult or out of the ordinary. NYU Stern MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On-Campus
NYU Stern MBA Interview Questions and report by a Round 1 applicant on-campus Showed up to the admissions office, and was greeted by the receptionist who hands you a folder containing lots of information regarding professional and extracurricular offerings, plus customized affinity group flyers for organizations you indicated interest in on your application (i.e. Stern in Africa). You also get a nametag + an ‘IQ+EQ’ t-shirt, just for showing up – how nice (and they have all sizes). My interviewer was part of the AdCom, and warmly greeted me around the start-time of the interview, and we made small talk

UNC Kenan-Flagler Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On campus
Round 1 on-campus MBA Interview at UNC Kenan-Flagler with Adcom. I had a self-initiated interview, on-campus during Women’s Workshop weekend with an Adcom on campus in the MBA office. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, though, some of that may have more to do with me- I’m a bit gregarious and I’ve never met a stranger. I arrived 15 minutes early for my mid-afternoon interview. There were conducting lots of interviews and there were a lot of people coming in and out of the office. When my interviewer came to get me I was welcomed warmly and instantly felt at

Duke / Fuqua Interview Questions & Reports: Round 1 / Second-year student / On-campus
The following Duke / Fuqua MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant who interviewed on-campus during Women’s weekend. Good luck to them! I interviewed on campus with a student. I didn’t know who the interviewer would be until the interview. It was a blind interview with a tremendous focus on teamwork. Interview Questions: Highlight a couple of things from your resume and explain why are you here. (This question threw me off as I was expecting to do a typical walkthrough) What Team Fuqua means to you? Why Fuqua? How Fuqua fits with your

UVA Darden MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-year student / On-Campus
Round 1 Early morning on-campus MBA Interview at UVA Darden. Quick check-in, blind interview conducted by a second-year. Followed by class visit and lunch. Really welcoming experience and I thought the interview went well! Questions: Since it is a blind interview, the opening question was “Tell me about yourself”, and from there she asked me about specific questions about my stories. Interview Advice: For fellow applicants, I would recommend scouring Clear Admit for other interview reports, going through the interview guide on Clear Admit, understanding the UVA Darden website, and speaking with current students / faculty / adcoms via events hosted by

The following UVA Darden MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Action applicant. Good luck to them! I was told from the very beginning that this is a blind interview and she hasn’t read anything about me. I have 30 mins to tell her my entire story right from: where I grew up undergrad majors activities why I took up a particular job current job why MBA why Darden hobbies any activities I would take up at Darden. Conclusion: Darden really wants to focus on the fit about your expectations at school and how you

Columbia Business School MBA Interview Questions & Report: Early Decision / Second-year student / On-campus
The following Columbia Business School MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Decision MBA applicant. Good luck to them! It was a very conversational interview. The second-year student has not read my application and he only had access to my resume. He kicked off with the typical tell me about yourself question and the conversation naturally flowed from there. I asked a lot of questions about his experience and got some pointers on what to expect in the first year of business school. Whenever we exhausted a topic, he would proceed with another

Harvard Business School MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On-campus
The following Harvard Business School MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! Pre-interview, I got to hang out at the hospitality room where they had refreshments and even Legos to play with! Everyone was visibly nervous including me and about 10 minutes before the scheduled interview, they took us to the interview wait room upstairs. That was definitely the most nerve-wrecking moment as I just sat there waiting for the interviewer to call out my name. My interviewer came out and picked me up to take me to

Dartmouth / Tuck MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-year student / On-campus
The following Dartmouth / Tuck MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 Applicant. Good luck to them! I interviewed during an open interview period. I waited in the admissions office and a second-year student came to pick me up. She was very friendly and we walked together to one of the team meeting rooms, quite far from the admissions office. Looks like Tuck doesn’t have proper space for interviewing (both admissions and recruiting), and that was a bit disappointing. The interview was blind, she just had my resume and took extensive notes. Questions:

Columbia Business School MBA Interview Questions & Report: Early Decision / Alumnus / Off-campus
The following Columbia Business School MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Decision MBA applicant. Good luck to them! I received an invitation to interview and was matched with one alumnus in my area. The match was definitely not random since we are in the same under-represented industry, similarly sized companies, and have worked with the same people at some points in our careers. I reached to my interviewer via email and he suggested two days to meet. After agreeing on date and time I also sent him my resume. Before the interview,

Columbia Business School MBA Interview Questions & Report: Early Decision / Alumni / Los Angeles
The following Columbia Business School MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Decision MBA applicant. Good luck to them! Went to his office, he had requested my resume in advance to review. Mostly conversational, but expressed some concern in my quant skills, as I don’t currently have a quantitative job, which put me a bit on edge. Asked what other schools I am applying to, what my GMAT was, though this seemed to be more from genuine curiosity, then anything to do with CBS. Interview lasted an hour. Questions: Walk me through your

The following Columbia Business School MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Rolling Admissions MBA applicant. Good luck to them! My interview was quite conversational and different from a “Typical” B-School interview. The Alum invited me to his home and I dressed professionally irrespective of the setting. He had read my resume extensively. 1. Right off the bat, the discussion started on my current company and responsibilities I have had here. 2. Then we moved on to the discussion about whole industry, market scenarios ever since I started working, and my contributions to

The following Duke / Fuqua MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant who interviewed on-campus during Women’s weekend. Good luck to them! My interview at Fuqua seemed like it went really well. They paired me with a student who is also from Chicago so we had a good deal in common. He was very friendly and open, no unexpected or unusual questions. He gave me time to talk about an experience I’m very proud of at the end- something on my resume that I don’t often get to “brag” about- and he was very

The following Dartmouth / Tuck MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 Applicant. Good luck to them! My interview was conducted via Skype. The first question surprised me a bit: “tell me about yourself” instead of “walk me through your resume” or “tell me about your professional experience.” Interviewer was very friendly and we had a good deal in common, although we definitely had dissimilar backgrounds and professional goals. She made me feel at ease throughout. One interesting question was “think of three words your colleagues would use to describe you.” Interview made me think

The following Columbia Business School interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Decision MBA applicant. Good luck to them! This was a blind interview (the alumnus only had my resume). The interview started with the questions ‘Walk me through your resume/tell me about yourself’. It was extremely conversational. The interviewer did have a print-out of the Ambassador Handbook sent by Columbia and that had a number of questions that he could ask. He was taking notes from time to time. A lot of questions were specific to my background but some common questions were:

The following UVA Darden MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Action applicant. Good luck to them! The interview was a little different from formats at other schools, but it was pretty comfortable. I sat with an admissions team member in his office and we chatted pretty casually. He started out by asking for me to talk about my experience growing up, through college, in my career, and why I want an MBA/why Darden. He let me know I’d have about half an hour to talk about those things and then there would be time
