Dartmouth / Tuck MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On-Campus
The following Dartmouth / Tuck MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 Applicant. Good luck to them! I unexpectedly went to interview on the first day of interviews for the season, so it was a little nontraditional. Instead of the typical 1:1 interview with a second year, I had an interview with a member of the admissions team and had three second years sitting in observing during the interview. It’s unlikely you’d have this format interview unless you’re there for the first few days of the interview season. It was a pretty standard behavioral interview,

Columbia Business School MBA Interview Questions & Report: Early Decision / Adcom / Skype
The following Columbia Business School interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Decision MBA applicant. Good luck to them! Was a really short one- done in 20 mins which was surprisingly short. Very standard questions- nothing to throw off- Intro, why MBA, why CBS, what are your goals and how will you contribute to the community. The Adcom member spoke really passionately about the alum network and her experience of traveling around the world for mba events which was good to hear. CBS from this experience seems to have very to the point

Harvard Business School MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On Campus
The following Harvard Business School MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! I spent a day on campus participating in interviewee activities (class visit, lunch with the admissions director, tour and career session), and interviewed the following morning. All interviewees hung out in a hospitality room until 15 minutes before our time slot. At that point, a student admissions volunteer collected all interviewees for the given time slot (there were about 10 of us) and took us upstairs to another waiting room. After about ten minutes, admissions representatives

UVA Darden MBA Interview Questions & Report: Early Action / Adcom / On Campus
The following UVA Darden MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Action applicant. Good luck to them! Darden has a unique interview style. The adcom did not even have my Resume. She basically asked me to tell her my story and what I do etc. It was very conversational and she asked for some clarifications when she needed otherwise it was like you talking to a friend. Very unique style. My advice will be to prepare for the interview like a consulting case study where in you tell them why you do, what you do

Chicago Booth Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 Second Year On-Campus
The following U. Chicago Booth MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! I did the class visit and lunch with current students on the day before my interview. I recommend doing that. It gets you familiar with the campus and the general vibe and helps calm nerves. I reached admissions office and checked in half hour prior to the interview. They almost always have a second year student sitting in the waiting room – to diffuse the nervousness in the room and to offer answers to questions

UVA Darden MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Skype
The following UVA Darden MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! I interviewed via Skype and the interview was pretty much like what you hear about the Darden process. It was very conversational and completely blind, meaning the interviewer had not even read my resume. You really just need to know your story, your goals and why you have decided to pursue an MBA now and at Darden. Overall it was really relaxed and the adcom was very friendly, but you certainly shouldn’t lose your guard. These are the

UVA Darden MBA Interview Questions & Report: Early Action / Adcom / Skype
The following UVA Darden MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Action applicant. Good luck to them! My interviewer was the Head of Diversity and a really warm and welcoming person. Darden’s interview is unique in the way that the interviewee has to drive the flow and content of the interaction to a large extent. I was told that I have 20 mins to lay out my story and can choose to talk about whatever I want. As I spoke, the interviewer kept nodding and acknowledging. He interjected me twice for clarifying questions, otherwise it

Chicago Booth Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumnus / Off-Campus Hub
The following U. Chicago Booth MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! Interview took place at a coffee shop. Alumnus just graduated three months ago and told me he interviewed more than 30 candidates as second year and alum. Interview was pretty informal and conversational – it felt like a two way conversation as he wanted me to know more about the school and his experience as well. Questions I was asked: Tell me about yourself. Why MBA? What do you want to do post

London Business School Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumnus / His office
The following LBS interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! The interview was conducted in the alumnus’ office building. He talked me through his background and that had me “walk him through my resume”. He then preceded to ask standard business school and specifically questions such as “Why LBS? Why London? Why an MBA? What are your goals”. Following he asked several behavior based questions such as “How would I describe my leadership style?” and several questions about how I act in a group setting since a significant portion of

UCLA Anderson MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-year student / Skype
The following UCLA Anderson MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! It was scheduled via an online scheduling tool, conducted over skype with a 2nd year student, and was application-blind. The interview was about 30 minutes long – a short intro, around 20-25 minutes of questions, and 5-10 minutes for me to ask him questions. There weren’t many surprising questions: – Why do you want an MBA? – What is your immediate post-MBA career goal? – What is your long term career goal? – If

Stanford GSB Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumnus / Off-campus
The following Stanford GSB interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them! I was put in contact with a local alum and we scheduled it via email. All I provided him in advance was my resume, and otherwise it was blind – he didn’t have any other information on my application. The interview was at his office and last about an hour. It was different from other interviews in that we barely talked about my interest in an MBA or in Stanford, really until his last question. He asked specific

The following Oxford Saïd interview questions & report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Application-based interview, lasted about 30 minutes. Questions: (1) Why an MBA? Why now? (2) Why Oxford? Have you visited Oxford? (3) Tell me about a time when you faced an obstacle in your career. (4) Tell me about a time when you had to convince others to follow your lead. (5) Any questions about the program or Oxford? Interviewer had thoroughly read my resume and application. Felt more like a conversation than an interview. I expected curve-ball questions, but

The following Columbia Business School interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by an Early Decision MBA applicant. Good luck to them! I met with my interviewer off-campus in the city where I live (East Coast city, not NYC) at a coffee shop over the weekend. I wore a suit and they also wore business attire. The interview was conducted by a recent graduate who also lives in the city. All scheduling and outreach is the applicant’s responsibility once you are matched in their online portal. The interview was blind so I had to provide my resume

The following Duke / Fuqua interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! I was scheduled to interview on campus but it was cancelled due to the storm. I was reached out the night before of the interview with the chance to do it over Skype. I should have prepared better because there was connection issues. The interviewer was extremely nice about it and we made it work. Overall, it lasted about 40-45 minutes. I think I could’ve done much better with more preparation but we will see. I’m hoping I made

I applied to Round 2 and received an interview invitation on Feb. 6th. I interviewed with a high-level executive of a boutique investment firm on Feb. 15th. The interview was scheduled quite easily and the interviewer was an alum from the 1990’s. Interview atmosphere was quite relaxed and in the meeting room of my interviewer’s office. It started very professional and we jumped into the interview. The interviewer only had access to my resume, which I sent in

Went to the Wharton center in the hub city in the country I’m based for the first interview slot of 3 days. Adcom ended up being the Director of Admissions, which I did not realize until after. Group interview: 3 others, perfectly rounding out the group at 4 people. I got there early and got to chat with them all. Duke / Fuqua Interview Questions & Reports: Round 3 / Second-year student / On-campus
The following Duke / Fuqua MBA interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 3 applicant. Good luck to them! Interviewed yesterday afternoon and had the opportunity to tour and lunch with current students. Duke truly has beautiful campus and the business school itself echos the same aesthetics. Multiple students were available to give their insights into the program, even in the waiting room. Each of them raved about their experiences and demonstrated tremendous enthusiasm for the closeness and support within the Fuqua community. That all said, I had a stunningly unpleasant interview experience. Having been told by multiple students

The following U. Chicago Booth interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! I met my interviewer at Starbucks early in the morning on a weekday, to avoid disturbing anyone’s work schedule. The interview was with an alumnus and was blind. She was very friendly and spoke about her MBA experience at length. She stuck to the standard questions – why MBA, why Booth, why now and seemed genuinely interested in my work engagements. There were no trick questions and I came out feeling quite confident and happy. The

Michigan / Ross MBA Interview Questions: Round 2 / Second-year student / On campus
The following Michigan Ross MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them! The interview was rather straightforward and was not set up to trap the candidate. The interviewer asked the typical MBA admissions questions of “Why an MBA?”, “Why now?’, and “Why Ross?”. As Ross has such a unique culture, extra time was spent on the last question. I also took the opportunity to participate in the Team Exercise immediately after the formal interview. I found the experience to be low-stress and actually quite enjoyable. The group sat around the

The following Berkeley / Haas MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! I received the interview invite just a week before the decision date and schedule the invite 4 days right before the decision date. Due to limited location and my tight schedule, I chose to do the skype call. As I’m in Asia, the timing will be a bit tricky, but lucky I have got the Friday night slot in the US, which mean Saturday morning in Asia. Haas didn’t use Skype to interview, but they have their

The following Michigan Ross MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them! The Skype’s interview was led by a second year student at Ross. Interviewer was super friendly and went through standard list of questions such as what’s your story, why Ross, why do I need MBA now, and how would my friends describe my top 3 strengths. At the end, my interviewer threw me a curve ball and asked me “What can you teach me in 30 seconds?” I was not expecting anything like that but kept my cool
