USC / Marshall MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1/Adcom/Skype
The interviewer was very friendly. Her name was Joanne and she was part of adcom. The interview was a blind interview, a simple affair which started out with some basic questions: 1. So, I have not read your profile, could you walk me through your resume, so that we have an idea about your profile. – Walked her through the resume. 2. Then there were some profile specific questions regarding the choices I had made in my career. 3. Describe your leadership style. 4. What would you change about your leadership style. 5. Why have you

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / On Campus
I had a blind interview on campus with a member of the admissions committee. Starting with undergrad, tell me about what you’ve done. Why Kellogg? Short term, what is your dream job? What is a siituation where you took initiative/ showed leadership? What would your colleagues say is a positive quality about you? At work, who or how would you interact with others? What is something you could improve on? Outside work, what do you do? What clubs would you want to get involved in? Why have you decided on your chosen field (Marketing)? Do you have any experience or

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round I/Second-year student/on-campus
This was a team-based discussion interview. After I signed up for a date on the website, I received an email with two interview prompts. On the day of the interview one of them was chosen. We went around the room every applicant sharing their ideas about the question and then we had a discussion. Towards the end we needed to summarize our discussion. The other applicants were overall friendly. After this each of us spent 10-15 minutes with one of the second-year students who were observing us. I was aksed the following questions: 1) How do you think the

London Business School MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1/ Alumnus / Off-campus
Thank you for all the contributions here; mine is the following: My interview took place at the alumnus’ office. The interview lasted about 2 hours; it is important to have on mind that if you are a woman your interviewer would be a woman (and if a guy it would be a guy). The interview started by introducing the structure we were gonna follow; she told me that the “presentation” you have to work on during the interview is more to know how structured you are and not so much the opinion about the topic (so if you don’t know

Harvard MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom/ On-campus
I interviewed at Harvard in November 2012. The interview was exactly 30 minutes and in the room was a man asking questions, a woman silently taking notes, and myself. It was a little awkward. Below are the questions I was asked, though they are not in order. They weren’t any of the questions I saw in past years, and it was a pretty tense interview. The interviewers were very hard to read. • What’s a piece of constructive criticism that you’ve been given that you didn’t agree with? • What do you know now that you wish you’d known

UVA / Darden MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Second-year student / On-campus
My interview was with a second year student and was held at the admissions’ office. Like others have posted, my interviewer did not know anything about me and did not want to see my resume. He told me upfront that he simply wanted to hear my story and I had 20-25 minutes to say whatever I wanted and he would ask questions only to clarify what I had said. It was very comfortable even though I was at first intimidated by the format and talking about myself for such a long time. Overall I think it went well. Afterwards, he

UVA / Darden MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / on-campus
I chose to interview on grounds, first because I assumed that having face time with adcom would be beneficial and second because I wanted to visit the School and Charlottesville before deciding which MBA to attend. Both the people from admissions office and the students were incredibly friendly and willing to show me around and make sure I was prepared for the interview. Questions asked: 1. Tell me your story. 2. Why an MBA? 3. Why Darden? 4. Have you considered the Executive MBA? (I’m older than the average student) 5. Any additional question you would

UCLA / Anderson MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Second-year student / On campus
I was interviewed by a second-year student and the overall feel of the interview was very relaxed. I traveled from Atlanta to do the interview on campus and the interviewer seemed to appreciate the committment. This was a blind interview. She asked me for my resume as soon as we sat down, skimmed it and began by asking me to walk her through it and finish with why I beleived I needed an MBA. I found it particularly helpful to have practiced my “story” and rehearsed my progression through my career and used this as a starting point for what

UT Austin / McCombs MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alumnus / Off-campus
1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why an MBA? Why Texas? 3. What’s the weakest part of your application? 4. What’s the strongest part of your application? 5. Describe how you deal with situations where you have a teammate who’s difficult to work with or isn’t living up to his/her part. 6. I briefly mentioned my undergrad institution, and the interviewer ended up asking if I was applying to that school for my MBA because it has a strong program. After I said no, the interviewer asked why not. 7. What’s the most

Duke / Fuqua MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Second-year student / On campus
Second-year student interviewed me. It was very laid back and part of manyother events (info sessions, tour, etc) that were part of the weekend. Exactly as I had heard, my second year was very friendly and tried to make me feel comfortable. Very straight-forward “why Duke” type questions with some behavioral. More emphasis on what I’d bring to Duke than what my post-MBA plans were. Questions: Can you walk me through your resume? Why MBA? Why Fuqua? Tell me about a time you had to overcome a personal conflict? What are your 3 greatest strenghts? What do you wish that

Berkeley / Haas MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alum / Off-Campus
I was interviewed by a somewhat recent alum at a local coffee shop. The interview was very pleasant, but the interviewer stuck to a fairly strict script based on what the school sent out. Questions asked: Tell me about yourself Talk about your experience in quant heavy courses Tell me about your responsibilities in your current position/role Why do you want an MBA and why is now the best time for you Why do you want your MBA from Berkeley What are you interested in doing at Haas I thought the interview went well and there was a lot

Duke / Fuqua MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Early Action / Second-year-student / Skype
My interviewer was a second year student. She introduced herself, talked about her professional experience and her activities at Fuqua, and we then began the chat. After I introduced myself, and walked her through my resume, we then talked about the following questions: Why did I recently switched jobs? What do I like most about this new job? Why do I want to do an MBA? Why Fuqua? How do I think that an ideal team should work? What would be my role in that team? What leadership experience do I have outside work? How would I get involve at

Interviewed by 2nd year student. Very pleasant asked me to go over my resume. Then the standard Why MBA, Why now, Why Duke. Afterwards asked about experiences on a team as well as leadership outside of work. Asked about biggest success so far. Very standard no surprises, every other prospective mentioned the same thing about the friendliness of their interviewer and the lack of any “trick” questions. School definitely trained their 2nd years well.

Interviewed on campus with a 2nd year student. I work in consulting and I was paired with a student who was a consultant before coming to Fuqua. She mentioned when possible they try to pair you with someone who is familiar with your industry/field in order to help candidates become familiar and comfortable with the environment. 1. Tell me about yourself 2. Why an MBA? 3. What specifically do you like about Duke? 4. Why do you want to return to your company? 5. Short and Long term goals? 6. If you had a minute

Duke / Fuqua MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Second-year student / Skype
So I just finished the interview a few minutes ago and I though let me write it out here while everything’s fresh in my head. Clearadmit’s archive of all such interviews for all schools has been really invaluable during my process and I feel its only fair for me to chip in here for others. It was a Skype call, very friendly and conversational. The student had some questions framed out but they were not so many. The follow-ups and branching out questions were what built up the 35 off minutes of conversation. -She first introduced herself in a few

Oxford / Saïd MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1/Faculty/Off-Campus Hub
The interview took place in the offices of a law firm in San Francisco with links to the school. The interviewer had read my entire application in detail and asked very specific questions about things I had mentioned. He had a list of questions before him and went through them one by one. The setting was informal and the interviewer was reasonably friendly. The majority of the interview was a general discussion about the various problems that plague my industry. He wanted to know if a) I was aware of these problems and b) what I thought about them and

UT Austin / McCombs MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alumna / Off-campus
My interview was off-campus, so I was provided a list of alumni in my area that are able to do interviews. I reviewed the list and looked up people on Linked In to identify someone with a similar background / interests, hoping that we might just naturally hit it off. I ended up finding someone a friend of mine knew through work, so I knew a little about my interviewer going into the meeting. We met at a coffee shop after work, and it was very informal. The interview was blind; she had a copy of my resume and had

The interview was in a coffee shop in New Delhi, India – very comfortable atmosphere. The Ross interview is a blind interview and the interviewer in fact did not even read my resume before interviewing me. Questions I was asked – What are your career goals? – I wrote about my family business in the resume, so he wanted to know what the company does – He wanted to know if I see potential in the industry of my family business? Where I see the industry in about 10 years – Tell me about a struggle? To

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1/Alumnus/Off-Campus
My interview was, from what I’ve read, a very standard Kellogg interview. The interviewer was friendly and started off with questions about my interest in the school. He probed a bit deeper really trying to get me to articulate why I was interested in the school over others. He then focused on my resume and asked me about the side business that I have been operating aside from my job. I am in banking and so was this alumnus, so he stayed away from asking me questions on my full time job and didn’t ask me anything about my undergraduate

Questions: – Why Stanford? – Tell me about a time when you dealt with someone who was difficult. How did you handle that situation? – Tell me about a time you worked well within a team – Tell me about a time you faced a challenge at work and how you influenced the outcome – What is your leadership style? – What do you

My interview was on Friday around 1PM. I live 5 hour drive from Chicago. My gf and I drove down that morning straight to Northwestern. We reached there around 11AM. I registered at the admission office which is on the second floor. I had some questions regarding information session later that day. We grabbed lunch downstairs and walked around the campus. Around 12.30PM, I walked back to the admissions office. There were 4 other interview candidates waiting for their interviews as well. I chatted with them a bit. All of them had pretty impressive backgrounds. My interviewer came

Instead we jumped right into the guts of the beast. Tell me about a time you worked with someone who was difficult. Tell me about a leadership experience. Why Stanford. Tell me about a time you stepepd outside your typical role. A lot of conversation went with the interview, and there were some probing questions after I answered the original question.

Chicago Booth MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alumnus / Off-campus
My interview was conducted by an alum at his office. It was quite a formal conversation. He introduced himself and told me a little bit about his background (post-MBA experience and what he’s doing right now). He said the interview would last not more than 30 minutes and then dived straight into the questions (not necessarily in the same sequence): 1. Walk me through your resume 2. Why MBA? Why Booth? 3. What would you like to do at Booth outside of the classroom? 4. Don’t you think some post-MBA experience in operations would help before you
