Berkeley Haas Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumnus / Virtual
The overall environment of the interview was very conversational and relaxed. It lasted 45 minutes. In the beginning, the interviewer presented himself and explained how the interview would go. He did not ask for a personal or professional presentation, he mentioned that he already had read my resume. 1. Why Haas? 2. How will you foster DEI? 3. Tell me about a time you had a creative solution to a problem. 4. Tell me about a time you worked with a challenging team. + Additional space to ask questions to the interviewer. Even though there were

UCLA Anderson Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
Interview with a 2nd-Year Anderson student. The vibe of the interview was really casual – the interviewer tried to make me feel less nervous and introduced himself first. Interviewer only had my resume in front, not my application. Questions asked: Walk me through your resume. Why now for your MBA? Why Anderson? How would you contribute to Anderson? Tell me about a time you failed.

HBS MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Zoom
Don’t let the HBS Interview information online scare you! I interviewed virtually this morning and had a really pleasant conversation! It just felt like I was talking to someone who shared a passion for my industry and wanted to discuss it in depth. The time flew by and I was generally at ease. 90% of the questions were very specific to my industry. At the end of the conversation I was asked something about one of my ECs and the final question was surrounding what more that I would like to share. Good luck out there! If you know yourself

CBS MBA Interview Questions & Report: Early Decision / Alum / Virtual
My interview was an alum who graduated in 2002 and he has been interviewing candidates for a long time. I was nervous going in to the interview, but it was very casual conversation. I was only asked standard questions. Questions I was asked: 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. Why MBA? Why now? 3. Why CBS and why NYC? This took 12 mins and we spent the next 18 mins talking about him and his advice to me. I had scheduled the call for 45 mins and was surprised how soon we were done. No behavioral questions

CBS MBA Interview Questions & Report: Early Decision / Alumnus / Virtual
I had a virtual interview with an almunus. It was an hour long conversation, discussing: 1. Introduction (he asked a lot of questions here on Why selected particular major, about my work projects, what did I recommend, he tried to understand my background in depth) 2. Why MBA? Why not a PhD/other masters? (He again asked follow-up questions on my motivation) 3. Why Columbia? 4. A leadership role I have taken 5. Questions for him The interview had basic questions but there were a lot of follow-up questions which threw me off my flow but I

UVA Darden MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Virtual
A vast majority of the interview was me telling my story. Very casual, and a great opportunity to hit on the things I wanted to highlight. The interviewer had not seen any part of my profile, to include resume. I went step by step from where I grew up, to college, all the way through where I am now, highlighting why I made the choices I did and what some of my key challenges and accomplishments were. We then went through the standard Why career change, Why MBA, and Why Darden, and I was able to tie various points of

CBS Interview Questions & Report: Early Decision / Alumni / Zoom
9/01 – Applied 9/22 – Received Interview Invite via email. Submitted interview request form, matched with an alumni, and scheduled a virtual interview. 9/26 – Zoom interview, resume-based only. The alumni interviewer (~10 years out of CBS) submitted feedback immediately after the interview. I think they were filling out the feedback form as we spoke. 10/5 – Accepted! List of Interview Questions — – Tell me about yourself / work experience / background. – Why MBA? – Career goals – immediately after and long term. – Backup plan? Commentary — The interview

CBS Interview Questions & Report: Early Decision / Alum / Off-Campus
The alum seemed very pleasant and casual. It was a very “fit” type interview, with the alum asking mostly questions about “Why MBA” and “Why my chosen field.” Questions about what clubs I would join as well as why my backup plan was if my initial plan failed were also asked. I was surprised how nonchalant (in a good way) and chill the alum was. I think CBS probably uses interviews to weed out people with toxic personalities, and that the interview doesn’t play a huge part in the admissions decision.

Tell me about a time you motivated your team members. What was the outcome? 5. Another question about why I’m interested in Haas. 6. Questions for the interviewer. Overall I enjoyed the conversation and learned a lot from his stories.

Dartmouth Tuck MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
The interviewer was a friendly second-year student, we started with some small talk. The interview was only based on my resume. It lasted 45 minutes. I received the following questions: Tell me about yourself. Why did you choose your first job? Tell me about these specific interests on your resume. Why Tuck? Why is now the right time for an MBA? What is your greatest professional accomplishment? Tell me about a time you helped someone even when it wasn’t convenient for you. Tell me about a time you received feedback. Duke Fuqua MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
I opted for the open interview and a full day of programming. My interview was at 9 am, and I checked in at 8:30 am and found two very welcoming first-year students waiting in the lobby, giving us company and engaging in great conversations. The interview started promptly at 9:00 am, with the interviewer briefly going over the process and introducing a little about himself. The questions thereafter flowed as follows (and I might be paraphrasing a bit here): 1. Please introduce yourself and share with me your journey thus far. 2. Why MBA? 3. Why Fuqua?

NYU Stern MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / AdCom / Zoom
The interview was relatively conversational. It began with tell me about yourself? And then the standard: – Why NYU? – What makes this program different than others? – Walk me through some feedback that you received and how you were able to leverage this for your development. The interviewer was super friendly and approachable.

Duke Fuqua MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
The waiting area was friendly and lively with other candidates having conversation and student representatives placed in the room to chat with while you wait. My interviewer was a second-year and was friendly but professional. It was a resume-based interview that lasted about 30 minutes with an additional 15 or so for my questions. It seemed like fit was a really important emphasis of the conversation as opposed to purely professional achievements and goals. After finishing the interview, I felt even stronger that I wanted to attend. Questions: Tell me about yourself Why MBA? Why are you ready now? What

INSEAD MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumni / Zoom
My first interview was with an alumna based locally who graduated ~10 years ago (over Zoom). It was very conversational, and she naturally weaved in several questions. The questions I remember were: – Walk me through your resume. – What do you do in your spare time? – What will you do in your time outside academics at INSEAD? – Several probing questions in my application essays (more detail around specific failures, achievements, etc.). – Why do I want to return to the same place after INSEAD? It lasted an hour and I left the interview

UVA Darden Interview Questions & Report: Early Action / Second-Year Student / Zoom
The second-year student did not have my resume or anything from my application. They made me feel very comfortable in a heavily conversation-based interview. It was roughly 40 min long, we went past the allotted time, but the student was very engaged and wanted to continue. We started with “Tell me about yourself” and subsequent questions were based off of my responses, not a set list. Why did you go into your industry? Why do you want to leave? Why MBA? Why Darden? The rest of the interview was focused on specifics about what I was interested in at Darden

Interview conducted on campus during the Veterans Symposium weekend. General casual conversation with specific interview questions mixed in. Started out with “walk me through your resume,” and we delved a little deeper into a couple specific stories or positions. Some specific interview questions: -Tell me about a time you had a conflict with your boss and how you navigated it. -Can you describe how you would handle a situation where you disagree with a group member’s approach to a challenge? -Tell me about a time you struggled and how you handled it. -You have one minute with

Northwestern Kellogg MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
The interview lasted ~30 minutes through Zoom and was pretty casual. I was interviewed by a second-year student who was really easygoing and made the whole interview experience easy. She was from a different industry than both my background and target industries. Questions: – Introduce yourself. – Why MBA? (I also used this question to say why Kellogg specifically.) – What is the career accomplishment you’re most proud of? – Tell me about a time you had to work on a team. – What is your main strength? After these questions, I was able to

Kellogg MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumni-Adcom / Virtual
My interviewer was both an Alumni and a member of the Admissions committee, but had only previously viewed my resume. The interview was 45 minutes overall, with about 5 minutes of introduction, 35 minutes worth of questions, and 5 minutes at the end for me to ask questions. Very pleasant conversation. We went step-by-step through my resume, with me explaining my roles, progression, why I chose the path I did, and what I learned from various experiences. We discussed my leadership style in general, and different ways I interacted with teams and team members. A couple specific questions: What would

Duke Fuqua MBA Interview Questions & Report: Open Interview / Alumnus / Virtual
In the beginning, the interviewer set the tone, introduced himself and explained the format. He only had my resume in hand, as expected. He did not ask many questions and I spent the rest of the time asking questions to him, and we could talk about Fuqua and his MBA experience (which was great!). I did expect to have more behavioral-based questions, but the interview was a nice experience and the interviewer made me feel comfortable. 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why an MBA? 3. Why Fuqua? 4. Tell me three strengths. 5.

Michigan Ross MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Zoom
I was interviewed by an alum – I am unsure of how Ross pairs up interviewers / interviewees, but I was luckily matched with somebody from my industry and location (leading to seamless conversation starters). My interviewer was engaged and very friendly; the entire process felt like more of a conversation than interview. The main questions he focused on were “Why Ross? / Why MBA now? / What will you bring to Ross?” Only one behavioral question was asked (Tell me about a time you influenced somebody that was not a direct report) before he dived into asking about my

Initially signed up to interview with an alum, but the system did not register the interview properly and needed to reschedule with a member of the adcom team. The interview was very relaxed and conversational and lasted 30 minutes. The questions the interviewer asked were the standard fair: (1) Tell me about yourself/introduce yourself. (2) What was a time you had to resolve a disagreement with coworkers? (3) What is a project you are especially proud of at work or in extracurriculars? (4) What are your plans post-MBA and

HBS MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Zoom
*This interview was for Class of 2023. The interviews was both application and resume-based. She first asked about my overall purpose to get an MBA, referring to my essays. Then, she went over the details of my resume, such as the current news about the topic of undergrad dissertation, the clubs I was part of, etc. What surprised me was that she didn’t ask anything about my current job or my future goals, rather she asked about something she read on one of my letters of recommendation (I didn’t know that my recommender included that story). Overall atmosphere was very
