UT Austin McCombs Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
I had my interview on campus with a current student on Feb 14, 2020. It was one of the “Discover McCombs” day and there were about 50 prospective students. I arrived 15 minutes before my interview at the admissions office. My interviewer arrived with only my resume, and after exchanging greetings, I was escorted to a “group study” room down the hall. He gave me some background about himself and explained straight away that it was a blind interview, that he had a set list of questions, and that he’d be making notes throughout the interview. Here are most of

UT Austin McCombs Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
Interviewer had a sheet of paper with questions and was filling them out as I went along. Second-year student had my resume, but interview was blind other than that. Overall, I didn’t really connect with my interviewer, but he was very nice and didn’t make me repeat answers to questions I had already answered just for the formality of it. The questions were relatively generic, but definitely make sure you have questions ready for your interviewer because that was 10-15 minutes of time at the end. Most of the questions were generic (Why McCombs, why an MBA now, how many

UNC Kenan-Flagler Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / On-Campus
I interviewed on a Friday, which was a little bit odd considering there are no classes on Fridays. This meant that there was less activity and buzz within the school, but overall I still had a really positive experience. My interview was a blind interview with an adcom member. It lasted about 45 minutes and was very conversational. My interviewer was super nice and chatty, which broke the ice immediately. First, she asked me to walk her through my resume. She stopped to ask a few follow-up questions throughout. We then moved onto talk about “why MBA, why now, why

Georgetown McDonough Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / First-Year Student / On-Campus
I had an on-campus interview with a first-year student. The interview was held in the MBA admissions office, which was a small suite of offices in the impressive McDonough building. The check-in process was quick and easy, and everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. The interview lasted a little over 30 minutes and was very conversational. It was a blind interview, so we started with the basic “why MBA,” “why Georgetown,” and future career goals questions, which took about half of the interview time. There were a handful of behavioral questions like “name a time you worked with a team

Wharton Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
Visit: Welcoming tenor from admissions office staff guiding daily events to class visits and panel lunch Type of Interview: Two-part. First, team-based discussion overseen by two second year students. Next, a ten minute one-on-one session with one of those second year students. One-on-one was blind. Interview atmosphere: Slightly impersonal, disengaged. Felt that I was being measured against a rubric rather than feeling an interest in intimately understanding my qualities or strengths as an applicant. What was asked: One two-part question: Why an MBA and why the Wharton MBA? Then, do you have any questions for me? What did I think

Georgetown / McDonough MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / On Campus
The interview was blind. She only had my resume to reference, which I was requested to bring ahead of time. The interview was pretty conversational, and it lasted for about 25 minutes with five minutes remaining at the end for me to ask questions. List of questions: Short/Long term goals & how MSB will help me achieve those goals. What about being in the DC area is a draw for me? Describe a situation I had to navigate through a global experience. Describe a situation where I had to lead through a challenge. Why I would be a good fit

UT Austin McCombs Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Off-Campus
I had my interview scheduled as an in-person interview during the Adcom visit to my country. The whole interview was a very positive and pleasant experience. The Adcom member introduced herself and made it very clear that all she knew about me was whatever was listed on my resume. The interview went for about 40 minutes and in the end I asked a few questions. Please walk me through your resume. What are your long-term and short-term goals? Why McCombs? What is it that you like about the School’s location? One instance where you have shown leadership skills. One instance

Georgetown / McDonough MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Skype
The whole interview was very conversational, and the interviewer had a lot of questions about my work experience and career choices. It was a blind interview. She also said that if she keeps on looking elsewhere and writing something during the interview, I should not be distracted as she will be taking down the notes for her reference. List of questions: Please walk me through your career post-college. What are your long term and short-term goals? What is it that Georgetown McDonough has to contribute towards your goals? The whole interview was very cordial. The Adcom member introduced herself. She mentioned that the interview is a blind one and she only knows what is written on the resume about me. Overall, interview ran for about 40 minutes. List of questions: Please tell me about what you have you been doing since college, how has your career progressed and where will this career path will take you in the future? Georgetown / McDonough MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
I had a great experience visiting and interviewing at Georgetown. I interviewed on February 27, 2020, and the interview was blind. Let me start by saying that everybody on campus is super nice. Every building I entered had people opening the door for me. I shared this observation with somebody and they told me it is due to their Jesuit values. The Admissions Office is located on the 3rd floor and I had no difficulty finding it. I was greeted by a nice and talkative lady on the front desk. My interview was with a 2nd year Student Ambassador, and

NYU Stern Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / Adcom / Skype
The interview went just as what the reports on Clear Admit said. It was very conversational and had a lot of questions about the working experience, career choice and recruitment strategy. And it was not a blind interview. Ice breaker, about pack six (essay). Working experience, the reason of career switch. About project experience on my CV and any particular challenges. How many subordinates do you have? Describe your typical day at work. Why PE/VC? Target company? Recruitment strategy, backup plan? How to get an internship in the dream industry? Geographic preference after graduation? What do you do in your

Georgetown McDonough Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Skype
List of interview questions Tell me about yourself. Why MBA and why now? Why Georgetown? Tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult person. Tell me about a time you faced an issue at work. What are your thoughts on diversity? Any questions for me? I haven’t received my admission decision yet, they said they’ll give it out on the 19th. The interview went very well. The interviewer put me at ease and even discussed the interesting things the international alums are doing. There were no surprises. It was pretty straightforward, but I was also a little sleepy

UNC Kenan-Flagler Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / On-Campus
Started a couple minutes late, but relatively informal in the adcom member’s office. The interviewer had not read my essays. I mostly ran through my background, talked about what led me to an MBA and why Kenan-Flagler. I was positioning myself for tech and got some follow-up questions on why I couldn’t get where I wanted to without additional schooling (I currently am an analyst at a start-up), so I’m glad I had prepped with some very specific reasons. Honestly it wasn’t my best interview ever, but I did receive an offer.

Wharton Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
Everyone knows Wharton uses the “Team-Based Discussion” (TBD) format for their interviews, so if you are invited to interview you will be given a prompt with some deliverables that you *should* prepare some thoughts/answers to before arriving. No need to do extensive research, but be able to justify your ideas. At least this year they permit you to bring in notes, which again takes some pressure off. They are less concerned about what you say versus how you say it while interacting with the other members of your interview group. I scheduled my interview first thing in the morning (1.5

UT Austin McCombs Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
The interview was very straight forward. We walked to a room in Rowling Hall and my interviewer had a sheet with questions. We first went through my resume before I got asked a series of standard questions – nothing out of the ordinary. I then had an opportunity to ask questions of my own, which turned into a very productive and insightful conversation. Overall, the interview started off a little stiff, but loosened up as it progressed.

Interviewed with senior adcom member at UVA Darden in late February. The interview lasted for a duration of 30 minutes. Questions asked were: Walk me through your resume, Why MBA and Why Darden? I was allowed to speak for 10-15 minutes with minimal intervention from the interviewer who was mostly taking notes. Tell me about a time you worked in a diverse setting at work. Tell me any feedback you have received at work and how have you acted upon them. Any questions for me?

The interview was blind and the interviewer had me walk him through my resume. Questions included: Why MBA? Why now? Why Tuck? What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses? What is your greatest professional achievement? Tell me about a time when you had to help someone achieve something. I told him my thoughts about the motto of the school and that seemed to surprise him as he had not even considered it. UVA Darden Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
The interview was very open. The interviewer started with “Tell me about yourself.” I quickly brought up my upbringing, college experience, etc., but focused most of the answer on my resume. The interviewer periodically asked me questions, but nothing related to behavioral questions. He genuinely wanted to get to know me better. I went through it all in about 20 mins and then after he said, “what else?”, which threw me off guard. I started talking about my hobbies and things I did outside of work. With AdCom member, part of traveling interview tour, application-based. Questions: Any updates to your application? Describe a time when you got pushback from a supervisor/team member. Describe how you motivate others in a work setting. Why MIT Sloan/why MBA? Post-MBA career goals? What questions do you have for me? Very conversational, laid-back discussion. In fairness, I had met the interviewer during a previous campus visit, so this might have made the introduction easier. Surprised questions nearly entirely focused on professional experiences, not any extracurriculars.

Most important factor in mind when selecting school One factor that may cause me to decline Duke offer. Career goal. UVA Darden Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / On-Campus
I interviewed with a member of the adcom. They asked me to tell them about myself — it was open very open ended and the interview was blind. I was told by a friend beforehand that I should be expected to talk for 5-10 minutes in the beginning though. After my summary, I was asked about how I deal with conflict. The atmosphere was casual and my interviewer didn’t take notes/have pen or paper. It wasn’t my favorite format because I felt like it wasn’t engaging/conversational. Listening to anyone talking about themselves for 5-10 minutes is a long time and

Duke Fuqua Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
I interviewed on-campus with a second-year student. The interview was blind and very standard. The interviewer asked the typical behavioral questions like “tell me about a time you dealt with a difficult coworker” or “tell me about your leadership style.” There were no unexpected questions and the interviewer treated it more as a conversation. One thing I liked about Fuqua compared to other schools I interviewed at was that Fuqua wasn’t trying to sell you on the school. They gave their honest opinions and experiences and wanted to see if you saw yourself there.

UVA Darden Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
The interview was a blind interview. I was interviewed by a second-year student and the interview was fairly informal and conversational. The interviewer started with an open-ended “tell me about yourself,” where I was prompted to give my life story, not just what was on my resume. The interviewer took no notes, but periodically stopped me to ask for clarity or more detail. There were no situational questions. Everybody at Darden was really friendly and everybody I met genuinely wanted to get to know me.
