Cornell Johnson Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Skype
I interviewed mid-January with an adcom member for the 2Y MBA program. The interview was conversational and not at all a stress interview and lasted for ~30 minutes. The interviewer had read my resume and not essays or other aspects of my application (a semi-blind interview). Below were the questions he asked: 1. Walk me through your CV. 2. Brief on LT and ST goals, followed by why MBA? 3. Why Johnson? 4. As I currently work in my family business and had worked with a consulting firm before, he asked advantages and disadvantages of working in

NYU Stern Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / AdCom / Zoom
The interview was conducted via Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The interviewer was a member of AdCom who was very friendly. Overall, the interview had a very conversational tone and was not stressful at all. We mostly covered standard business school questions and there were very few behavioral questions, but this could be because they did not have any, given what they saw in my application. Here are the questions as best as I can remember them: 1. Icebreaker diving into one of my Pick Six pictures/captions. 2. Tell me about your current role and why you selected

Cornell Johnson Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / Adcom / Skype
My January round interview occurred in March. The interview was conducted on Skype by an admissions officer who claims that he had my resume along with application notes. He did not mention that he read my essays. In June, I was accepted into the Johnson community! Experience summary: Most of the time was spent on prepared questions which were standard, but some spotlight was pointed on a shared hobby in my resume. He was significantly more interested in learning about my people skills and enjoyed hearing about my fit with the Johnson students. Interviewer was mostly busy writing notes as I answered

Cornell Johnson Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / Adcom / Skype
I interviewed in mid-February with an adcom member for the 1-year MBA program at Cornell. The interview was conversational and not a stress interview. It lasted for about 30 minutes. The interviewer had read my resume and not essays or other aspects of my application (a semi-blind interview). Below were the questions she asked: Tell me about your journey so far. Why MBA? Why now? Why Johnson? What motivates you to apply to this school? Leadership qualities without examples. Anything else you would like us to know? Any questions for me? INSEAD Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / Alumnus / Off-Campus
I had 2 separate interviews – one with a recent alum and the other with somebody who graduated probably 15+ years ago. I had to send in my full application (essays, test scores, etc.) to the interviewer ahead of time. Both interviews lasted about 45 mins. My first interviewer wanted the interview to be open and was more of a conversation. She had me walk through my resume and then we just chatted about what influenced me to make my career choices. She didn’t have any behavioral questions ,but really pressed why I wanted to go to INSEAD. My second

UNC Kenan-Flagler Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
Decided to do the interview on campus. Interviewer who was a Year 2 student already had a copy of my resume; hence, questions were very specific. Asked the following: Walk though my story (2-3 minutes). Short- and Long-Term goals? Why UNC? Why an MBA? (Important to focus on how prior experience is helpful to your career path, but at the same time where you are lacking, and the value of an MBA. Also bring up specific clubs that are relevant from a professional aspect.) Any questions for me? (Asked him personal questions on his experience on campus and taking classes

Columbia Business School Interview Questions & Report: Early Decision / Alum / Off-Campus
My interviewer was a BCG consultant and I interviewed at his office after a full-day campus interview. I can tell he was pretty tired. He took lots of notes during the interview. Questions were mainly about my career aspirations and how to achieve these goals. Only one behavioral question regarding my leadership story. The whole conversation went really well and at the end of the interview he gave me lots of advice regarding resources from Columbia and even personal contacts to connect with. Hope this will help more people preparing for interviews. Good luck!

NYU Stern Interview Questions & Report: Round 3 / Adcom / Skype
The interview was quite short. The interviewer started off with small talk. She was very friendly and casual. She asked about an undergrad experience, my thoughts behind each career transition, why now, how to achieve my post-MBA goal, what surprised me. She also took a couple of questions from me. The whole conversation ended in 20 mins. Received the offer after two weeks. I think the key is to show that you are clear with what you want to do after graduation and what Stern can offer to help you achieve that goal. There were no trick questions. Hope this

UPenn Wharton Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
With the COVID-19 impacting interviews across schools, I wasn’t sure if Wharton was going to cancel the on-campus interviews, especially after hearing that the Tokyo sessions were cancelled, but I was able to get to campus and participate in the other events as well. Scheduling I scheduled for the 3:30 pm time slot so I could participate in the events (a mock lecture with lunch and a campus tour) beforehand and have some time before the TBD to do last-minute prep. Pre-Interview Events I enjoyed the mock lecture and the campus tour, but there were many people, so

UT Austin McCombs Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
I had my interview on campus with a current student on Feb 14, 2020. It was one of the “Discover McCombs” day and there were about 50 prospective students. I arrived 15 minutes before my interview at the admissions office. My interviewer arrived with only my resume, and after exchanging greetings, I was escorted to a “group study” room down the hall. He gave me some background about himself and explained straight away that it was a blind interview, that he had a set list of questions, and that he’d be making notes throughout the interview. Here are most of

UT Austin McCombs Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
Interviewer had a sheet of paper with questions and was filling them out as I went along. Second-year student had my resume, but interview was blind other than that. Overall, I didn’t really connect with my interviewer, but he was very nice and didn’t make me repeat answers to questions I had already answered just for the formality of it. The questions were relatively generic, but definitely make sure you have questions ready for your interviewer because that was 10-15 minutes of time at the end. Most of the questions were generic (Why McCombs, why an MBA now, how many

UNC Kenan-Flagler Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / On-Campus
I interviewed on a Friday, which was a little bit odd considering there are no classes on Fridays. This meant that there was less activity and buzz within the school, but overall I still had a really positive experience. My interview was a blind interview with an adcom member. It lasted about 45 minutes and was very conversational. My interviewer was super nice and chatty, which broke the ice immediately. First, she asked me to walk her through my resume. She stopped to ask a few follow-up questions throughout. We then moved onto talk about “why MBA, why now, why

Georgetown McDonough Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / First-Year Student / On-Campus
I had an on-campus interview with a first-year student. The interview was held in the MBA admissions office, which was a small suite of offices in the impressive McDonough building. The check-in process was quick and easy, and everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. The interview lasted a little over 30 minutes and was very conversational. It was a blind interview, so we started with the basic “why MBA,” “why Georgetown,” and future career goals questions, which took about half of the interview time. There were a handful of behavioral questions like “name a time you worked with a team

Wharton Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
Visit: Welcoming tenor from admissions office staff guiding daily events to class visits and panel lunch Type of Interview: Two-part. First, team-based discussion overseen by two second year students. Next, a ten minute one-on-one session with one of those second year students. One-on-one was blind. Interview atmosphere: Slightly impersonal, disengaged. Felt that I was being measured against a rubric rather than feeling an interest in intimately understanding my qualities or strengths as an applicant. What was asked: One two-part question: Why an MBA and why the Wharton MBA? Then, do you have any questions for me? What did I think

The interview was blind. She only had my resume to reference, which I was requested to bring ahead of time. I had my interview scheduled as an in-person interview during the Adcom visit to my country. The whole interview was a very positive and pleasant experience. The Adcom member introduced herself and made it very clear that all she knew about me was whatever was listed on my resume. Georgetown / McDonough MBA Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / On-Campus
I had a great experience visiting and interviewing at Georgetown. I interviewed on February 27, 2020, and the interview was blind. Let me start by saying that everybody on campus is super nice. Every building I entered had people opening the door for me. I shared this observation with somebody and they told me it is due to their Jesuit values. The Admissions Office is located on the 3rd floor and I had no difficulty finding it. I was greeted by a nice and talkative lady on the front desk. My interview was with a 2nd year Student Ambassador, and
