Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / On Campus
The interview lasted about 45 minutes. It was entirely conversational and felt more as though my interviewer wanted to get to know me (as opposed to seeing how I reacted under pressure). She began by telling me about the application process, and that she wasn’t on the admission’s committee. She wanted to get to know me and that her interview notes would be added to my application. After the disclaimer, she spent about 3 minutes telling me about herself (e.g.: undergrad, post-undergrad work experience, grad school, and her time working at Kellogg). After that I was asked to walk through

Stanford GSB MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alumni / Off-Campus
The interview was in some company’s conference room, but was very conversational in business casual. I had not much in common with the alumni besides a hobby. Although the alumna had graduated in the mid 90’s, she knew where Stanford was headed and wanted to re-live the experience again. The first 35-40 minutes I was asked questions and each story dug deep into what I felt, said & did. The way questions were put forth, they were all related to work (did not get a chance to share personal stories). Hence, I had to come up with some stories from

Indian School of Business MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alumnus / On-Campus
The interview was conducted by 3 alums of ISB. Most of the questions were asked by the two men. The lady asked one question towards the end of the interview. The interview panel was fairly conversational and made sure to make me comfortable during the interview. These were the questions asked by the interview panel. 1. Tell me about your professional experience after finishing your undergraduate training. – Told them even though I was doctor by education, I was interested in management and joined the management team of a healthcare start-up. I described the key roles that I had

Stanford GSB MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alumnus / Off-Campus
My interview was scheduled with an ’04 GSB alum late in the day at his office. It started about 30-45m late. At the time, the alumnus – a CEO of a small business in an industry adjacent to mine – was looking for a CFO and started off by discussing a potential candidate whom I knew given my work background (a little awkward). This, in turn, led to a brief discussion of our mutual connections / acquaintances. I got the sense that he didn’t think too highly of some of them, an opinion with which I disagreed (and stated as

Tepper MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / On-Campus
My interview went well. Many questions were asked, but a few that I remember were: 1. Why I chose to apply to the school? 2. What I look forward to achieve through attending? 3. Where do I see myself in 4 years? The interview went pretty much as I expected. I have done my research prior so nothing was of shock to me.

MIT Sloan MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / Off-Campus
I did my interview for MIT Sloan at the Marriott hotel in Paris. I currently live in Dubai and work for a top-tier management consulting firm. I was given the option to interview either in Mumbai or in Paris. The interviewer was very friendly and asked me the sort of typical questions that you prepare for in every MBA admissions interview: – Walk me through your CV up until now – Why an MBA? Why do it now? – Why MIT Sloan? – Tell me about your biggest achievement – Tell me about a time

Georgetown / McDonough MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / On-Campus
My interview was with an Assistant Director of Admissions. It was a blind interview, so she had not seen my file. I brought a copy of my resume. Questions: 1. Tell me about you personally and professionally 2. Tell me about a leadership experience 3. Tell me about a time you could’ve taken the lead but instead contributed more as a team member –> this was perhaps the question that stumped me a little 4. Tell me about an international experience 5. What is one good piece of advice you’ve received from a leader, mentor

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / On Campus
My interview went smoothly, and it lasted for about 30 minutes. The interview atmosphere was better than I expected, and my interview was completed without any problem. My interviewer was friendly as well. These are the questions she asked: – She checked my resume and asked whatever was unclear to her. – She asked me to tell her a few good qualities about myself. – She even asked me how am I going to manage a team if I am given a responsibility. – Then she asked me about my future plans. – She asked me

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / Off-Campus Hub
I went to Shanghai for the interview. The first part was a group discussion lasting about 35min. The second part was one-on-one interview with the Adcom. My teammates were very nice, and we had a pretty nice team discussion. Everybody had a chance to talk, but there was one guy who was quite outspoken, taking the role as a leader. He tried to summarize what others had said and gave a 1min presentation at the end. I think the Adcom was quite impressed, and he was admitted. The one-on-one interview was very short. The Adcom asked: 1) What did I

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Second-year student / On-Campus
I interviewed during a visit weekend back in October. My interviewer had not read my profile (blind interviews are pretty standard for on campus), and I was asked to bring a copy of my resume with me. The beginning of the interview was fairly standard: run me through your resume, tell me about a time you resolved conflict, etc. I did get the dreaded “tell me about a moment where you experienced failure.” I think the fact that I wasn’t entirely prepared for that question worked in my favor, as I did not have a canned response that spun a

Harvard MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / Off-Campus Hub
My HBS Interview was very conversational. Only 1 interviewer – felt like the main objective was making sure that my story made sense and what I said on paper reflected who I was in real life. There was no time for questions at the end. Questions Have you every managed other individuals? Has that been difficult? If I were to get all the junior people you work with in a room, what would they say about you? Strengths? Weaknesses? Tell me more about the retail transaction that you wrote your essay about. What did you learn about the retail market?

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alumnus / Off-campus
It was a blind interview with an alumnus in Taipei. We met in a coffee shop of a five-star hotel. The interviewer was very nice and briefly introduced himself at first. He usually interviewed one student in each round and used a notebook to record my answer immediately. I was asked to go through my resume at first and then he asked me some follow-up questions regarding my personal experience. Then I was asked many standard questions such as: 1. Why MBA? 2. Why now? 3. Why Kellogg? 4. What do I want to do after MBA? 5. Give an

Duke / Fuqua MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Second Year Student / Skype
My in person interview was cancelled due to bad weather, so I ended up doing a Skype Interview. The interviewer was dressed up casually at his apartment. It only lasted 25 minutes. The interviewer asked me: 1. To walk him through my resume 2. Why MBA? Why Now? 3. Why Fuqua? What’s something you like? 4. If you had one minute to appeal to the Admission Committee, what would you say? 5. What makes a good leader? 6. Tell me about an experience where you worked in a team? 7. Your proudest achievement

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / On-Campus
My interview was very laid back and conversational, with a hard stop after 45 minutes. It took place in the Adcom’s office, closed door. The interviewer started by explaining the application process – that my app had already been reviewed once, and would then go to committee once she furnished her interview notes, but that she would NOT be on that committee. She also explicitly noted that their admissions are not rolling, and I would not hear back until the decision deadline. Then she gave me a little bit of background on herself (not a lot, though, as I only

The interview was blind (the interviewer has seen my resume only) with a second year student. It was very conversational, and the interviewer did a good job making me feel comfortable by asking some questions about my personal interests. Question List: -> Tell me a little about yourself (i.e. Walk me through your resume) -> Why MBA and why MBA now? -> Why Fuqua? -> What are your short-term goals? -> What are your long-term goals? -> What motivates you? -> What do you think of feedback? -> Tell me about a

UT Austin / McCombs MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alumnus / Off-campus
I interviewed with an alumnus in my city. He was blind to my application, but I had sent him my resume prior to meeting, so he was familiar with my background. We began with me telling about myself and walking through my professional experience. Then delved into why MBA/why McCombs. Finally we talked about what I was looking for in an MBA experience. It was very conversational throughout, so it was never structured as really direct questions. My interviewer gave me a lot of leeway to steer the conversation to touch on points that I felt important. We also discussed

My interview went very well. It flowed much more like a casual conversation than a structured interview. My interviewer started by telling me about himself and the admissions process, then asked me the following questions/prompts (while taking notes directly on the resume that I handed him): 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Tell me about your hometown / did you attend a public or private high school? 3. Duke / Fuqua MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Open Interview Period / 2nd Year Student / On-Campus
The interview at Fuqua was very casual and comfortable. When you set up an interview, you get to choose the timing of your interview and class visit. There were many times when I was with other applicants, and many students would drop in to talk to applicants. I set up my schedule to have lunch with students, attend a class, Q&A with admissions, visit an operations management course, and then conducted my interview. Is that your sport? 2) Why don’t you run me through your resume. 3) So what does your company do? 4) Which business segment at your company would you say is the largest? Harvard MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / On-Campus
I’ll keep this short and simple. -There were two members of the Adcom in my interview: an interviewer and an observer. -The interviewers cover a lot of ground in 30 minutes: ensure your answers are crisp. Note: I did not receive an offer of admission. (There were also some follow up questions that I omitted here, probing for more information here and there) • Small talk about my travel plans. • Pretend that we were sitting together on the flight over here. Tell me about yourself. • Why did you choose to work at a consulting firm?

NYU / Stern MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / On-Campus
I interviewed as part of Stern’s Spotlight on Women in Business/Stern’s Women in Business Conference. The first day included a half hour interview with an admissions representative (she was actually a member of Stern’s Office of Career Development who also happened to be a Stern alumna) followed by a coffee chat, Stern Stories: a panel of women discussing their experiences at Stern, evening reception (chance to mingle with fellow interviewees and meet faculty, current students and admissions members), and a ticket to Stern’s weekly Beer Blast. Description of visit and interview atmosphere: I visited the school before the early action deadline and had my interview during the visit. I had specifically scheduled my interview on Friday so I could attend “Fuqua Friday” and experience the diverse and super friendly Fuqua community firsthand. Berkeley / Haas MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alumnus / Off-Campus
The alumnus was very flexible in finding a time that was convenient for both of us. We met at his office. After brief introductions and small talk, we started into the interview. It was all-around pretty casual, with no big curve-ball questions. There were none of the typical behavioral questions. Most questions focused on my motivation in pursuing an MBA. – Why do you want to get an MBA? – Have you considered whether your goals would be more likely achieved in continuing to gain experience in the industry? (I work in a fairly specialized field to which
