Ross MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off Campus / Alum
I interviewed in NYC with a 2009 Alum. She was very familiar with Teach for America which helped because in previous interviews I had this issue. It was very conversational, we met at a starbucks, she took a few notes. Why Mba? Long-term career goals? Why Ross? How do you see yourself contributing to Ross with your nontraditional background? Any questions for me? We talked a lot about my experiences in TFA and in the classroom…dealing with parents, my passing rates etc. She was very sincere about wanting to thoroughly understand my career goals (which was legitimate considering they are

Duke / Fuqua MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / On Campus / Second-year Student
I interviewed on September 23, 2011 as part of the open interview period for R1 applicants. I arrived in the Raleigh-Durham area the day before, so I woke up bright and early on the 23rd to get to the school in plenty of time. I wanted to knock my interview out of the way early, so I scheduled a 10 am slot. From the moment I arrived at Fuqua, the admissions office was buzzing with current students, admissions officers and prospectives there to visit. The current students sat and chatted with me for as long as I wanted and were

Berkeley / Haas MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off Campus / Alum (Consortium Applicant)
I live in LA and given my hectic work schedule, I could not really afford to go to Berkeley, so I arrange for a local interview. I contacted my interviewer and we agreed to meet over lunch at a restaurant in Hollywood near his office. The interviewer was a recent alum (Class of 2011). The interviewer was very friendly and welcoming. I brought copies of my resume but he already had a copy with him. The interview was very casual and he was probably younger than I was. Overall, it was very conversational and we kept on being interrupted by

Berkeley / Haas MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off Campus / Alum
I interviewed off-campus in January. The interview was in a conference room at the alum’s office; we had set-up the meeting after exchanging emails. The interviewer was very friendly and welcoming. To start the interviewer asked me for my resume and we dove right into the questions: Tell me about yourself What do you do? Why MBA? Why Haas? What do you want to do after your MBA? How will you contribute to the program? After covering the questions, we spent about 10-15 minutes covering questions I had. The school’s principle of “Confidence without attitude” was definitely palpable. Fingers crossed!

UT Austin / McCombs MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On Campus / Second-year Student
I applied in Rd 2; received the interview invite in mid-december and did the on-campus interview in mid-january. I had made a visit to the school before so I elected not to append any classes or tours with my interview. The atmosphere was relaxed: I informed the office that I was there about 15 minutes early and spent some time looking over notes in the reception area. The interview was done by a second year student who had a copy of my resume but had not seen the rest of my application. Questions I remember: Walk me through your resume

UT Austin / McCombs MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 3 / Off Campus / Alum
I received an invitation to interview on February 7th, roughly two weeks after having submitted my application. I was given the choice to interview with a second year student or an alumni. For convenience, I chose to interview with an alumni who lives near to me. The university has a great system for contacting and coordinating with alumni to set up an interview; I was able to contact someone quickly and had an interview scheduled within one week. The interview itself was very conversational, it took place over lunch and the interviewer was gracious and accommodating. I was told by

Ross MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off Campus / Alum
I had my interview yesterday with a Ross alum in Boston. It was held on 2/20/12 as part of the R2 application process. The interview lasted roughly 45 minutes and was very regimented. He asked very little follow up questions and took lots of notes. The questions I was asked (and can remember) were as follows: Walk me through your resume Why an MBA? Why Ross? Since you studied Business for your Undergrad, what do you feel you can learn from a Master’s? How would you go about prioritizing all of the opportunities at Ross? (after I talked about all

Ross MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On Campus / Student
Just interviewed at Ross on Monday. It was the last class visit/interview period prior to finals and spring break. Everyone during the visit was incredibly helpful and welcoming. Walk me through your resume (I’m a Military applicant so my interviewer asked me to explain to him what exactly I did for the Army) Why MBA/Why Ross Tell me about a time you have to work outside the system to accomplish a task (in reference to the complex logistical system in the Military) Tell me about a time you dealt with someone who did perform as well as need and what

Ross MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On Campus / Second-year Student
I interviewed at Ross on campus during the Super Interview Weekend for Women (Round 2; Feb 4, 2012). I was interviewed by a second year MBA student and had submitted my resume in the system previously. The interview was blind; the student had not seen any part of my application except my resume. The questions she asked included the following: Walk me through your resume What are your career goals; Why Ross? Tell me about a time that you worked on a team and a team member wasn’t pulling his / her weight. How did you handle it? Give me

Berkeley / Haas MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off Campus / Alum (Consortium Applicant)
Had an interview off-campus with an alumnus of the program. The alumnus was very friendly and easy to talk to – I felt good after the interview and he left me with a great impression of the program. Overall, I’d be familiar with the culture at Haas and their defining principles. Good luck interviewing with Haas! Started with small talk. Walk me through your resume Why Haas? Let’s talk about the four defining principles. Tell me about a time where you had to convince a team of your opinion. What would you change about your company if you were CEO?

Coffee shop in Atlanta, GA 8am. I wore a suit and may have been a bit overdressed but felt it was better to err on the side of caution. I interviewed with McCombs today (20 February, 2012). Since I am an international student, it was a Skype interview with a second year student. 1) Why MBA? – I gave a very brief background about myself and tied it with my short-term goal. 2) Why McCombs? – I described why it is a great fit for me both professionally and personality-wise. My interviewer also pitched-in by elaborating on my points based upon his experience and explaining the resources at McCombs that will be very useful in achieving 3) What does ‘personal success’ mean to you? – I gave an honest

Ross MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On-campus / Second-year Student
I flew in to Detroit and then drove to Ann Arbor a day before the interview and stayed with a friend. In the evening prior to the interview, I took a tour of the U of M campuses and was really impressed by the college-town concept. The central campus, where Ross is located, seems like a great place to spend 2 years of my life. The downtown and the campus flow seamlessly into one another and were pretty vibrant. Parking seemed to be an issue because the nearest parking deck is like 3-4 blocks away. There is plenty of street

Ross MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On-campus / Second-year Student
I arrived at AA on a cold snowy day….which is good as I imagine this is representative of the UMich experience. I met with a 2nd year student who transitioned into the field I hope to get into. It was a great experience to gain his insight about Ross and how it has helped him out thus far. To the best of my recollection, the interview went something like this: Tell me about yourself? Why an MBA? Why Ross? 5 years from now, what would you want your classmates to say about you and your time here? Tell me about

UVA / Darden MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off-Campus (Skype) / Second-year Student
I had a Skype interview this morning, 6am my time (yuk). I was really prepared on the technology side, but for 10 minutes of trying different calls and computers she kept saying she couldn’t hear me. In the end her volume was on mute! Anyway, we started quite late and she explained she was a 2nd year MBA student doing the recruiting as part of her program. It was her first Skype interview. She also explained that she wanted me to tell her my story and Why Darden for ~30 mins, with her interjecting with questions every now and then,

I completed my Kellogg on campus interview on 9th Feb 2012. I am a R2 candidate. I had scheduled my appointment at 2 PM. I flew to Evanston Illinois on 6th Feb to visit the school and interact with the students. This experience definitely helped me in my interview. I reached my destination well before time and I was chatting with other candidates while I was waiting to be called. This interaction definitely took some pressure off my mind. I had both my Wharton and Lauder interviews today on campus. First, I attended a Lauder class and met a few other Lauder students in my desired track, which was great. The Lauder interview was with a 2nd-year student in the same track and with some common background elements. The interview was relaxed and unstructured, but we did touch on the following questions: Resume walkthrough Specific follow-up questions about my work experience Why Wharton? Why Lauder? Why Wharton + Lauder and not just Wharton? Post-MBA goals? Long term goals? Specific follow-up questions about my goals Questions on a related subject

My interview was at 9:30 am, I arrived at 9:00 am. While I waited from my interview, there were students in the waiting area who would talk to you about Booth (seems pretty standard these days), but all nice people and answer all questions. I had an in-person interview with a Haas alumni in my home town. We organized the time/location over email and met in the city. He hasn’t been at Haas for a very long time (10+ years!). He was very lovely and we chatted about this and that for ~10 mins. We then started the formal interview questions. He took notes on his laptop which was very disconcerting! Questions: Take me through your resume: He had a copy. I took about 10 mins. He got a little impatient towards the end so I suggest wrapping it up a bit quicker. Why
