Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / 2nd-year students / On-campus
I had both my Wharton and Lauder interviews today on campus. First, I attended a Lauder class and met a few other Lauder students in my desired track, which was great. The Lauder interview was with a 2nd-year student in the same track and with some common background elements. The interview was relaxed and unstructured, but we did touch on the following questions: Resume walkthrough Specific follow-up questions about my work experience Why Wharton? Why Lauder? Why Wharton + Lauder and not just Wharton? Post-MBA goals? Long term goals? Specific follow-up questions about my goals Questions on a related subject

Chicago Booth MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / On-campus / Alum
I interviewed at Booth for round 1 , Nov 19,2011, on campus. I was invited to interview so I was very happy. It was a Saturday so I did not have to worry about parking. My interview was at 9:30 am, I arrived at 9:00 am. While I waited from my interview, there were students in the waiting area who would talk to you about Booth (seems pretty standard these days), but all nice people and answer all questions. I would advise exploiting this opportunity. The interview itself was done by a Booth Alum (2011). It just so happened she

Duke / Fuqua MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / On-campus / Second-year Student
My interview was at 11:00 am. My interview was conducted by a second year student. Everyone at Duke was extremely friendly, from the secretary to the students. They have lots of students introducing themselves and talking about Duke. It was a wonderful experience. I did the Duke tour, entrepreneurial session and the social event called Fuqua Friday. Questions were all standard , all available on the Clear admit page, in fact the interviewer told me “the questions will be standard, you would have seen them before” Walk me through your resume Why Duke? Why MBA? What is your biggest strength?

Berkeley / Haas MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off-campus / Alum
I had an in-person interview with a Haas alumni in my home town. We organized the time/location over email and met in the city. He hasn’t been at Haas for a very long time (10+ years!). He was very lovely and we chatted about this and that for ~10 mins. We then started the formal interview questions. He took notes on his laptop which was very disconcerting! Questions: Take me through your resume: He had a copy. I took about 10 mins. He got a little impatient towards the end so I suggest wrapping it up a bit quicker. Why

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alum / Off-campus
My interview was given by an alumni at his office. It lasted for one hour and a half. Questioned that were asked: Can you tell me about yourself starting from college? Explain your work history. I told him that I had my first job at the age of eleven; which led to pretty much giving him my life story. Why Kellogg? What did your company do?… I wasn’t sure why he asked this because I thought my resume answered this question. How did your company generate business? What would your employees say about you? What do you want to do

Ross MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / On-Campus / Second-year Student
I interviewed on Dec 1, 2011 as part of the R1 application process for Ross. I got in the afternoon before, so I was able to do a little bit of exploring in the AA area on my own to get a feel for how it was as a town. I loved everything I saw. The main street area, the Big House, the Ross building–it was all amazing and I loved every second of it. On the big day (interview day) I woke up early to make sure I gave myself enough time to get the the building and get

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alum
The interview was pretty straightforward, and the interviewer told me that it was mainly intended as a chance to show I’d prepared for the interview. All of the questions were ones that I’d seen on this wiki, with the exception of: When you were growing up, what was your dream job? (I had mentioned on my application that I only recently realized I wanted to go to business school.) How would you divide your time between academics, social, clubs, and personal time at Kellogg?

Tepper MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On Campus / Adcom
My interview was very conversational and my interviewer spent the first 5 minutes just getting me relaxed and talking. She asked the following questions: Walk me through your resume and tell me about yourself. Why do you want an MBA? Why a Tepper MBA? What are your short-term and long-term goals? Can you give me an example of your leadership? What are your interests and activities outside of work? What is a weakness of yours? Any questions for me? My interviewer was fairly new to the school and didn’t know the answer to several of my questions but she was

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / 1st-year student / On-campus
Interview was about 45 minutes or so and was pretty strightforward. I felt it was a little less conversational since she seemed a bit green being a first year and all. Overall questions I got were very similiar to ones already posted with the exception of: What will you do if you don’t get in Tell me about a time when you were given very ambiguous instructions and how you handled it.

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / 2nd-year student / On-campus
My interview was conducted by a second-year student in a large conference room of the Admissions Office. My interviewer wasn’t super friendly but wasn’t trying to stump me and made me feel very comfortable. The interview was very conversational. He asked me the following questions: Tell me your story beginning with college until now but don’t mention why an MBA yet. Why an MBA? What are your short-term (i.e. immediately after MBA school) and long-term goals? Can you tell me what percentage of your time is spent as a manager as opposed to a team member from when you began

MIT / Sloan MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / On-campus / Adcom
I applied in the first round to Sloan and had my interview on-campus by a member of the admissions committee on Jan 18th, 2012 and I’ve received my admittance into MIT on February 6th, 2012. I arrived at the office 15 minutes prior to my interview. On that particular day, there were only two interviews, including mine, at my specific time slot. We exchanged conversation about the weather of Boston, what we each do for a living; stories of how we got to Boston (both of us came from outside of USA for the interview). Our conversation made the waiting

The interview lasted around 35 minutes. Besides the questions already posted here, a few interesting ones were: What’s the culture at your current company? Why do you think they offered you a job? What’s the long-term vision of your current company? What steps have you taken towards achieving your goals? Interview style was very casual.Talking to other candidates in the waiting room helped me relax right before the interview. Best of luck!

NYU / Stern MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On-Campus / Adcom / Accepted
My story is a little different, because I was invited to interview as part of the Stern Spotlight on Women event. There were ~60 of us there (I think mostly Round 1, and then a few of us Round 2s who got our applications in a few weeks early). So, as part of the day, I did my interview, then had a class and tour and roundtable event with students. So while I was greeted with a packet of information related to my interests, the tshirt came at the end of the day after it was all over. Started like

Cornell / Johnson MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / On Campus / Adcom and Second-year Student
I interviewed on-campus February 5, 2012 with a member of the adcom. Along with the adcom member was a 2nd year student who was training to learn the interview process. The interview lasted about 45 minutes. The interviewer said that it was blind, but mentioned that she had “reviewed notes about my application” from the people who had read it previously. The interview wasn’t more or less formal than interviews at other schools, but the overall atmosphere was very different. In previous interviews I was allowed to craft my own story via the guidance and direction of the interviewer’s questions

UNC / Kenan-Flagler MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / On Campus
I interviewed with John Hughes (adcom member) on January 31st on campus. Like other people have said it was a blind interview. Overall it was conversational. He had a list of questions he wanted to get answered, but there was definitely some back and forth discussion throughout the 45 minutes. My goal is to work in the sports industry, and Mr. Hughes attended a rival college of mine so we discussed the state of our football teams on the outset of the interview. The rest of the questions were: Where did you grow up, was your high school public or

MIT / Sloan MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / On-campus
I arrived to the admissions office 30 min early and made conversation with the front desk admin staff and another applicant waiting to interview – this helped me loosen up and I believe was a positive first impression that two interviewers saw two candidates exchanging business cards and wishing each other luck. Interviewer started off explaining the style of the behavioral interview and noted there would be time at the end for me to ask questions. True to MIT Sloan interview guidance – the interview was strictly behavioral and all questions were either “give me an example of…” or asking

What was doing at work these days? Followed up with specific questions about the nature of the project and my role. Tell me about constructive feedback you’ve received. Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alumni / Off-campus
The interview setting was extremely informal – we met for coffee at a local coffee shop and spent the first 10 minutes talking about the neighborhood and local restaurants. The alum interviewer did not have a script or set list of questions – also the interviewer did not bring a copy of my resume so I was thankful to have brought a copy to provide him with. Questions: Tell me about why you left [previous firm] to go to [current firm]. Why did you decide to adjust your specialization? Why do you want to go to Kellogg? What do you
