Texas McComb Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alum / Zoom
Interviewed with an alum over Zoom on Feb 9, 2022 for Round 2. They had access to my resume, but not my application. They asked questions for ~30 minutes and I asked questions for another ~15 mins. They asked: • Walk me through your professional experience. • Short-term and long-term goals? • Why McCombs? • Why an MBA? Do you need an MBA to obtain your goals? • What are the strongest and weakest parts of your application? • What have you learned about yourself in this process? • What other schools have

Texas McCombs Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
Very casual environment, allowed for open conversation between and after questions. Interviewer was very friendly and shared about her background and experience with McCombs. Questions were essentially the same as another poster here, though not in this exact order. 1. Take me through your professional journey. 2. Tell me about a time you had to come up with a unique solution to a business problem. 3. What is the biggest challenge you’ve experienced in your professional career? 4. What’s a surprise that you’ve had in your career in the last couple years (during COVID)? 5.

HBS Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Zoom
I was interviewed by two people, one interviewer and one scribe. The scribe was a member of the admissions committee and the interviewer was a director at HBS. The scribe only spoke at the start and end of the interview to say hello and goodbye. The questions were very specific and resume based. There were no really general questions, it was almost as if I was talking about my job with someone who works in the same industry. They asked a lot of very specific questions about my job and experiences. I had multiple positions before I applied and I

Stanford GSB Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Alumnus / Zoom
The interviewer was friendly and explained how the interview is just a part of the process and that he would be taking a lot of notes. 1. Share about your proudest achievement. 2. Have you upskilled or helped any team to perform better? 3. Have you gone beyond your role description? Share an example. 4. Have you found a unique problem or solution, different from others? 5. Why MBA?

UVA Darden Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Zoom
Opened the call with some polite intros, and then letting me know the format of the interview: learning about me, letting me ask any questions, and then next steps in the process. 1. Tell me a bit about your background, your undergrad experience, and your work experience. 2. What was it like moving from [home state] to DC? 3. What is your greatest professional accomplishment? 4. Follow-up: what implications does your greatest accomplishment have for the firm? 5. One of the things we’re thinking about when considering candidates is the fact that recruiting starts almost immediately

Stanford GSB Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Alumnus / Zoom
The interview was scheduled based on the alum’s availability and lasted for approximately 1 hour. I was matched with an alum with whom I shared the same undergrad school (different industry though). He was a 2010 GSB graduate. He was friendly and the interview flowed like a conversation – in fact, some 30 minutes into the interview, we took a break for some time where he asked me if I had questions for him (in most interviews this is done towards the end). The interviewer had access only to my resume. There were a few standard questions at first –

Cornell Johnson Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Second-Year Student / Skype
Top-level: It was a relatively low-stress typical interview with fewer ‘situational/behavioral’ and ‘how-would-you-contribute’ questions than other schools. Tips for applicants: Don’t forget your driver’s license. Make sure to ask the interviewer to repeat their name and email very clearly so that you can write it down and thank them after the interview since Skype closes pretty quickly. Only name-drop a current student or recent alum with whom you truly had a memorable conversation because the ad-com or second-year student interviewer will likely know them better than you. Because of an earlier issue with my transcript, my invite

Yale SOM Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Zoom
The interview was with a Y2 student via Zoom. Interviewer was extremely welcoming and friendly, told me it would be a very casual 30min conversation, that she had a list of questions she needed to ask and would be taking notes. We exchanged some casual ice-breakers about CNY. It was standard Yale-style of blind interview (interviewer only had access to resume) and no “tell me about yourself”. 1. I won’t ask you to tell me about your resume. Instead, choose a professional experience that is meaningful to you and talk about what the outcome was. Why was it meaningful to

Minnesota Carlson Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Adcom / Zoom
The Carlson interview was very short, and it looked the Adcom member was just trying to run through the list of questions he had written down. It was a blind interview, the Adcom member only had my resume and not the rest of the application. 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why Carlson? 3. How will you add value to the Carlson community? 4. Short term and long term goals? 5. Tell me about a time when you had a difficult conversation with someone. 6. How have you shown your commitment to diversity?

UCLA Anderson Interview Questions & Report: Round 2 / Second-Year Student / Virtual
Interview was exactly 30min. The interviewer was very engaging and friendly and I think the conversation went smoothly. The interview felt conversational and he constantly provided me with feedback. The structure of the interview was basically a few questions about the goals then more behavioral teamwork questions then concluded with Anderson questions. Tell me about yourself. Why MBA? Why now? What are your short-term and long-term goals? What is your plan B? (I want to do MBB consulting and he underscored how competitive it is and wanted me to elaborate on alternatives) Tell me about a conflict teamwork experience. Tell

UPenn Wharton Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 / Adcom / Zoom
WHARTON TBD: The TBD went as expected. The link was opened just a couple of minutes before starting. We introduced ourselves before the “clock” started ticking. When the time began, everyone presented their ideas in about 65-70 seconds. Then we started to attempt converging into an idea. It wasn’t easy at first, but everyone was very open to suggestions. Only a couple of people were more “stuck” with their own ideas, but eventually went with the group. After deciding on a topic, the entire conversation went more smoothly. I think that following the specific questions from the prompt was key.

Yale SOM Interview Questions & Report: Round 1 /Second-Year Student / Zoom
My interviewer was pretty straight forward and friendly at the same time. She mentioned that the interview would last 30mins. I was already aware Yale SOM is not fond of starting interviews with the famous ” Tell me about yourself/ walk me through your resume” question so I was not surprised they did not ask it. These were the questions: 1. I won’t ask you to go through the whole resume, choose one professional experience where you succeeded at something and talk about what the outcome was. What did you learn from the experience and how did you apply it

UVA Darden Batten Scholarship Interview: Early Action / Zoom
When I got the request for an interview, I couldn’t find much on the interview process. Given that, I thought I would share my experience. First thing to note – I got my notice of admission (EA September) well before notice of the scholarship. There were 4 people on the call, the MBA adcom I had my admissions interview with, Batten’s Director of Education and Experiential Learning (I’ve talked to a few Batten Scholars now, she has been a constant for every interview), a Darden grad in the start-up space, and a member of the adcom who focuses on Batten
