Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 3 / Second-year student / On-Campus
I interviewed with a second-year who works in admissions. It was very informal, and lasted about an hour. Below are the questions she asked me: -Walk me through your résumé -Tell me a time when you faced a conflict -Tell me about your leadership style / how did you develop it? -Why Kellogg? Why MBA? -What do you plan to do after school? -What will you contribute on campus? -What questions do you have for me? Then she asked me a few questions about two items on my resume.

Columbia MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alumnus / Off-campus
The interview was at the alum’s place of employment. I was dressed formally and prepared fairly diligently by using personal resources as well as some of the posts found here. When I was given my choice of interviewers, I found that all of the alum offered were recent graduates. My alum was more or less of my age. We ran through some of the typical talking points: Walk me through your resume. Why B-school. Why Columbia. What I will add to Columbia. Backup plan if I don’t get in (I’m an entrepreneur and this question was stressed big time). Am

Tuck MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Off-campus / Alum
The interview went well and it seems very promising. Hope to hear back soon with good news. The interview had quite a few people and the atmosphere was very somber. She asked me question about was were my plans for the future and about my education. My experience was very enjoyable and very surprised about how calm I became as the interview went on. There was not really surprises but just a relief that things went so well.

MIT / Sloan MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / On campus
I walked into the office 20 minutes early and chatted with someone who looked like an applicant but ended up working there. Oops. Then I sat with applicants and we talked about our careers and where we were applying. One girl had applied to MIT and Kellogg, the other girl had applied to HBS and Stanford. My interviewer came out first, she was smiling and excited to meet me and begin. She definitely made me feel like she was on my side during the interview. We made small talk first and connected on some information about China (I worked in

UT Austin / McCombs Evening MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 4 / Admissions Director / On Campus
I submitted my application and received interview request that evening. The interview dates were 1 week from the application date, and I was given 2 dates and 4 time slots to choose, but 1 interviewer. I interviewed for the Evening MBA program with the Associate Director of Admissions on campus. The interview was formal, but comfortable in the private office of the interviewer. The interview was blind, and the interviewer made that clear at the beginning. The interviewer explained that the interview and application would be put together for review later. -Describe a leader you admire. How are you applying

Berkeley / Haas MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 3 / Second-Year student / On-Campus
I was greeted by a 2nd year student to conduct my on-campus interview. The interview was blind, but the interviewer did have a copy of my resume which she had briefly read-over before beginning the interview. They started off by asking me to introduce myself and talk about my resume with a specific focus of my current job/role. After that, she asked me about why I wanted an MBA, what I hoped to do it with, and why specifically I was interested in Haas. After those questions, they began probing into more of the behavioral questions around my working style,

Ohio State / Fisher MBA Interview Report: Round 2 / Adcom / On-Campus
The following Ohio State / Fisher MBA interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them! The interview experience was great. The interview genuinely focused more on questions I may have for Fisher than them seeming to evaluate me. They did ask standard questions about my leadership style and experiences, effective and successful teams I’ve worked with in the past, as well as discussing companies and entrepreneurs I respect. I met several current MBA students and met with the office of career management, which sent me a follow-up email with dozens of resources

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: R2 / AdCom / Off-Campus Hub
I arrived a bit early in order to make sure that I had the directions for the location right, and thus was able to chat with my fellow team members before the discussion. All of them, even though slightly tense due to the occasion, were very nice and easy to talk to. We were then asked to join the AdCom member in our conference room, where we were seated at a round table (we were able to choose our seat). The AdCom explained that she would not interfere and only notify us when we had (if I remember well) 15

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2/ Alumnus / Off-campus
We were at the Starbucks. Interview was casual. 1 Walk me through your resume. 2 Elaborate on work experience after MBA. 3 Why MBA? 4 Why not School XYZ? 5 What would you do if your boss doesn’t favor you and puts you in a bad position? 6 What would you bring to Kellogg? 7 Why not 1 year? 8 Questions? We spent 1 hr and 20 mins. It was a ding.

Harvard MBA Admissions Interview Questions: R1 / Adcom / Off-Campus Hub
Interviewed in an off-campus hub with adcom. Interview was succinct, straight forward, and generally conversational. Overall, I don’t think I had any major points I didn’t get across and ultimately was admitted! 1) Let’s talk about (first company)- what do they do? What did you do there? 2) What’s your average day look like? 3) What’s the next big brand in your industry? 4) Let’s talk about (second company)- what do they do? Tell me about your job there? 5) What would you do differently if you were CEO? 6) What have you learned from

Chicago Booth MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Second-year student / On campus
I’m a round two applicant. I attended the Booth Live event on Friday. The event was awesome! I recommend that every applicant attend this event–before completing the app if possible. It gives you much better insight into the Booth culture, admissions process and committee members, and student personalities. Try your best to engage with as many of the Booth students and admission members as possible–they may remember you and fight for you during their review process. I had my interview the following day at 1pm. There was a first-year student or two hanging around the lobby talking to interviewees and

Chicago Booth MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alumnus / On campus
I interviewed on 03/09 on campus. It was a Saturday, so the admissions office was closed. There was a seperate room set up for interviews. When I arrived, I checked in and recieved a name tag that also had the name of my interviewer (of course, I googled him right away just so I could see if we had any common interests – which we didn’t!) There were several first year students in the ‘waiting room’ that were available to answer questions and calm our nerves! When it was my time to interview, my interviewer came out, called my name,

NYU / Stern MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / AdCom / Off-Campus Hub
I had my interview off-campus. To tell youthe truth I was pretty nervous. I reaced 15 min before time hoping to hang around and get used to the atmosphere, but I never got the chance. As soon as I reached I was handed a folder with my interests. Thanks to all the reviews I knew what to expect in this part. As I was the first candidate being interviewed that day the Adcom came right out to meet me and I was ushered in before the scheduled time. It was a very relaxed affair all in all. Once we got

Cornell / Johnson MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 3 / AdCom / On-Campus
Everyone was really friendly once I arrived on campus from New York on the C2C bus. I attended an information session/tour of Johnson w/ 2 first-year MBA students – this included lunch which is good because I was starving. The students were really friendly and provided a very informal setting for Q&A. I attended a class as well prior to my interview, which was helpful to gauge the style of teaching at Johnson. My interview was with an AdCom member who had my resume and notes from those who had reviewed my application. The conversation was very directed but relaxed.

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Second-year / On-Campus
I didn’t like the new interview (team based interview) because many people didn’t participate fully. Also, many people came up with ideas that were out of this world. There were a lot of different opinions. However, in the end, we came to a solid conclusion. There was no feedback provided — whether that conclusion would hold good. Interview was usual – Why Wharton? Why MBA? Why now? Goals? Questions? What do you do in free time?

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Second-year student / On campus
Well I got dinged today 🙁 Really, really tough to swallow as Wharton was my first choice. I can’t help but wonder if it was the TBD that did me in. I did not purchase any prep package, but perhaps should have, as I may have done/said something “wrong.” If so, I really regret it and hope future candidates can learn from my experience since my group wasn’t what seemed to be the more typical super-friendly relaxed group. My topic was “innovation.” Here’s my experience: Unlike the other groups I saw around me, mine was very tense. We spent a

Georgetown / McDonough MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / On campus
I interviewed on 01/24 during the day. I applied Round 2 and interviewed with an AdCom memeber. When I got there, no one was in the admissions office to talk to me or answer questions or anything like that. So I had time to read through my notes and mentally prepare myself. Then, the Adcom member came out and greeted me… he was really nice and conversational. It’s a blind interview, so all he saw was my resume in advance (he also did ask me for a copy – so make sure to print one out in advance!) He asked

UNC / Kenan-Flagler MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 3 / AdCom / Phone
My interview was with AdCom member John Hughes. He was very relaxing and has a great interview style where it feels much more like a relaxing conversation than an interview. I am usually very nervous in interview situations but he really put me at ease. In so many words he asked me the following questions…. Where did you grow up? Walk me through your resume. What was your biggest work accomplishment? What are your short term and long term goals? Why Kenan Flagler? Do you feel your GMAT score/GPA are a true representation of your ability? John and I had

UCLA / Anderson MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 3 / Admission Staff
I just came back from an interview with an admission staff at Anderson. I was surprised that they would actually schedule an interview with me since the school does not provide interviews for round 3 applicants. Anyway… the meeting was only 20-25 minutes long as they mentioned on the invitation email. I was asked 1. Tell me about yourself (not exactly the way she said it) 2. Why do you need an MBA? 3. How did you prepare for your GMAT? ( I was surprised with this question) 4. How do you work in a team?

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: R2 / Adcom / Off-Campus Hub
I signed up for a group discussion with 5 other applicants. We had a 35 min talk on how to spend $1M USD in Wharton’s Global Presence. We reached consensum and even got to present our results to the Adcom Rep. Afterwards, my one-on-one interview was very casual an unstructured, the rep told me I had 10 minutes to talk about what I wanted, and so I started to give my Y MBA, Y Now and Y Wharton speech. She then asked me about my hobbies and if i had any questions for her. The time went really fast!

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2/Adcom/Off campus (London)
It is useful to arrive a little early and get to know your fellow candidates. Goes without saying if there is a drinks reception prior to your scheduled interview, make sure you attend and speak to others about how theirs went. Get some paper and pen as there is often none in the venues. It will also be useful to have a watch to keep time. We were taken to a meeting room and sat round a table. The Adcom member read the prompt and explained the rules, we were meant to discuss the prompt and make a presentation in

London Business School MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alumnus / Off-campus
First of all thank you to everyone who submitted his or her report. It was a really great help for preparation. My interview was at the apartment of an alumnus, as it was also his home-office. As I am female applicant and he a guy, it is not quite true that you get a female interviewer as well. But for me it didn´t matter anyway. The alumnus was a very friendly and communicative conversation partner. The whole interview was extremely relaxed and lasted for approximately 3 hours – but more because he also talked a lot about his experiences and
