Deciding between Sloan and Wharton. Interested in emerging tech and tech ethics which makes MIT appealing, but size and breadth of Wharton network is a big draw. Hoping to be on the West Coast post-MBA, and interested in startup investing long term, which may also give Wharton an edge. Thoughts?

Both programs should provide you access to your goals. Wharton likely has greater breadth in resources, while Sloan may have more depth on the tech side. (1)

Had the temptation to lean into the tech-centric MIT environment, but will be matriculating at Wharton for the reasons mentioned, as well as Wharton's recent, demonstrated commitment to tech, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Yes, both Wharton and MIT Sloan are great programs that would allow you to gain a great education and achieve your stated West Coast tech goals. You really can't go wrong with either option. anon68252 Likes Earned: 17 Echoing anon86574. Was accepted to Wharton and Sloan this round--I am coming from FAANG and looking to use tech for social impact/ethics, similar to you! It was super tough, but I will also be matriculating to Wharton to stretch myself given Wharton's breadth in my gaps (e.g., finance, marketing, general management), and to be around a more diverse class compared to Sloan, which is 40-50% engineering backgrounds. I wasn't ready to limit myself to just tech, and Wharton's name/network is also a huge draw. Best of luck either way! (3)
