I'm pretty torn between UCLA and CMU. I had originally thought LA was my dream MBA destination. However, after visiting CMU, I felt I connected deeper with students, the faculty/staff have been incredibly helpful, and I think I would really learn a lot there. I come from tech and am really impressed with CMU's technology focus.

The Anderson offer is compelling, but I’d think both Anderson and Tepper are closely matched in terms of reputation. (0)

All three are great MBA programs that can help you accelerate your tech career. In addition, the large scholarships at both Tepper and Anderson are quite compelling. Given the higher cost of living in LA than in Pittsburgh, I suspect that your total costs would be similar at either program. Thus, it really comes down to your personal fit and your geographical preference. If you feel that Tepper is a better fit for you, then select Tepper. Best of luck. (0)

anon10646 Likes Earned: 783 I might caution weighing too heavily on connection with current students. Obviously choose the best fit, and where you think your profile/personality matches with student already there is a component of that, but goals/objectives, resources, etc should be bigger factors. The 'people' are more of a variable and as you get smaller in cohort sizes, a handful of admitted candidates can alter dynamics. Some programs do have their 'type', but adcomm members can also turn over and new thoughts/biases in decisions can change class profiles. If you're still split on the more 'sticky' factors like recruiting pipelines, class offerings, etc then filter down to the soft factors. Based on your description you may be anchoring on Anderson since LA was your original choice destination, but Tepper is better on paper. Go through the exercise of writing down the pros/cons of each program, listing specifics, to see how they compare head-to-head and if you're just stuck on LA or if you're getting your head turned by the 'shiny new thing'-ness of Tepper.
