Notes:

Engineering background in chemicals/manufacturing. Deciding between Kellogg and Jones. Received no scholarship from Kellogg but full-ride at Rice. Post-MBA goals are operations or strategy in energy,chem,biotech. Particularly interested in the entrepreneurial environments of both universities. Is Kellogg worth sticker when Rice makes me debt-free?

eliot Verified User. Likes Earned: 1945 Rice Jones with a full scholarship could be quite appealing given that you could easily achieve your post MBA career goals in Texas. I do encourage you to visit both programs to help you decide your personal preference. (0)

alexbr4 Verified User. Likes Earned: 1752 My only push back is that Kellogg is 3-4 tiers higher than Jones, and this may well be impactful in terms of quality of experience, networks, etc, especially for a more entrepreneurial focus. (0)

anon10646 Likes Earned: 820 Also, should really figure out if Energy/PetroChem/Biofuels is more of an interest or it's Biotech/Pharma. Says Energy/Chem/Biotech in the notes, but the form selection it lists the Big Pharma names and has Other, Entrepreneurship, Pharmaceutical; the 'other' I'm assuming to be less of the O&G side of energy and why no big Energy names are listed out. Kellogg is one of the better HC/Life Sciences schools and probably better for the entrepreneurial environment and resources. Not a lot of 'energy' placement in their report, but with your background and Kellogg status likely no issues there. Jones, would be fine for Energy, but you likely lose optionality for your other interests. If you're leaning strongly to Energy staying in TX (assuming your location given Jones app) that may be worth forgoing the debt. (1)
