Have (mostly) narrowed it down to Sloan and Booth. Booth is hard to turn down for finance and the small scholarship, but Sloan has a really cool culture and MIT is a great university from which to earn a degree.

anon43218 Likes Earned: 32 Congratulations on the top notch acceptances! While I don’t think you can go wrong with either, if I were you I’d be leaning towards Booth. It’s especially nice to have some scholarship money from them and their excellence in finance. MIT is a great brand but I’m not really convinced it’s THAT much better than UChicago/Booth (2)

Sloan might be marginally stronger for East Cost IBD, just given proximity to New York, but can't go wrong with Booth either, and you'll have plenty of options whichever you choose. I'm asking these questions because they may hold the key to making the call here - as these two programs are absolutely peers and the decision will come down to personal goals and fit. anon20155 Likes Earned: 145 Thanks for the responses (OP here). I feel a better personal fit at Sloan and am from the US. I hope to work in NY/Boston with potentially some international work over the course of my career. On the personal goals front, I'm concerned Sloan may have less of a strong presence in finance and the scholarship is tempting, but hard to ignore fit and location as well. (2)

anon10660 Likes Earned: 292 Congratulations! I am biased towards Sloan. However, you can't go wrong with either Booth or Sloan. Where do you want to work post-MBA? If you have any doubts about IB and want to explore tech or healthcare or entrepreneurship then Sloan would have an edge otherwise it's really hard to split the two. Go with the culture and fit you like most. I would take Sloan personally (2)

anon20155 Likes Earned: 145 @anon10660: I want to work in NY/Boston post-MBA, but wouldn't be opposed to elsewhere on the east coast or the Bay Area. I have some doubts about IB, with consulting being next most likely, and tech being the only other (albeit unlikely) possibility. Overall, my head says Booth because the schools are equally ranked and Booth has the edge in finance and cost, but my heart will still say Sloan. Hard to weigh all these factors--appreciate everyone's comments and input! (2)

anon10189 Likes Earned: 10 They're both top-tier schools and will get you where you want to go - if you like the MIT culture better and potentially want to work in Boston, follow your heart! MIT also has a stronger brand internationally. (2)
