Pretty torn here: the money at Emory ($$$) and strong consulting outcomes makes their offer compelling, but UVA (sticker price) was my #1 from the start and am not sure I would want to live in Atlanta post grad - more interested in the east coast and mid-atlantic regions. Negotiations with Darden are in progress, but assuming no change in $

eliot Verified User. Likes Earned: 1902 Congrats on your acceptance to Darden and your $100k scholarship at Goizueta. Yes, Darden would be a great fit given your consulting career goals. Having said this, Goizueta is a very good program and I am sure that you could land a consulting job from Goizueta with a focused job search. If your Goizueta offer doesn't persuade Darden, you might consider applying to a few more schools in Round 2 like Tuck, Ross and Fuqua. If you get a partial scholarship from one of these programs, that could be helpful. Best of luck. (0)

bowside421 Likes Earned: 32 Goizueta's 2023 employment report says 24% of grads ended up in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. I'd suggest talking with current students. Darden makes sense if you end up in the DC area only, in my opinion. Goizueta sends a good amount to NYC. Can you be more specific about what actual location you envision because I think that matters. (2)

mosam1997 Likes Earned: 9 Happy to elaborate. Looking to end up in New York, Boston, DC, or Charlotte (or maybe Cali) long term. I am not opposed to being in Atlanta a few years after MBA, but dont see myself staying long term. Going to Emory would seem to limit my employment options and network to the Atlanta area. Personally, I value geographic flexibility so emory makes me nervous, but its consulting outcomes are strong (0)

anon10646 Likes Earned: 783 You have to account for the fact that some of the schools >T15 you tend to get a lot of regional self-selection. Someone from the Southeast more likely to attend there and look for placements there for post-MBA. I'd suggest a LinkedIn search for Goizueta alumni in Northeast offices and get feedback how recruiting went for them, if they were targeting that office, and feasibility for your preferred placements. Consulting was not my target industry, but my understanding is Boston/NYC are very popular requested offices and even from Darden will require some luck. (1)
