anon17302 Likes Earned: 2 I’ve received offers from three universities: UNC, Broad, and WashU. My goal is to pursue a career in operations consulting or a direct position in supply chain management. I’m trying to get money from UNC, but Broad has offered almost a full scholarship, and WashU has provided 75%. Since I’m an international student, excluding UNC, which of these two universities should I choose if I need to make a decision? (1)

It certainly makes sense to ask UNC if there is anything they might be able to do on the money side of things, since they are the highest ranked school to which you have been admitted. One way to think of the three programs is that UNC is generally viewed as top-20, Wash U as top-30, and Michigan State as top-50.

I'd also keep in mind the fact that UNC also gets very high marks with recruiters due to their career-oriented concentrations, and this may make it easier for you to pursue the career path you've outlined.

One thing that is striking to me is that it sounds like you didn't make the cut at some of the other top schools on your list - despite an very high GMAT score. Any idea what may have gone wrong? Are you on the younger end of the spectrum in terms of years of work? Or, perhaps the opposite (over 30 years old)?

If you have to pick between Broad and Olin, I'd lean Olin, but again would note that UNC is in a different tier. Best of luck!
