I interviewed with a member of the admissions committee on September 8th, 2011 and was told that I was one of the earliest applicant initiated-interviewees. I was allotted 30 minutes and spent about that much time. I had the chance to conduct a mock interview with a friend of mine who was an incoming first year there and that helped a lot. The one area I had to work on was an example of team leadership which helped me during the actual interview. I think understanding why an MBA, your resume, and why Kellogg helped me a lot.
Prior to the interview I visited campus a few times (it helps that I have family in Evanston) so I had a reasonably good idea of the culture of Kellogg. Also, I talked to a member of a student club (energy club) the day prior to the interview and had the opportunity to talk through where Kellogg graduates end up if they are interested in the energy industry. This helped me with my why Kellogg questions. I still have to finish part 2 of my application so I am working through the essay questions now.
