Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / AdCom / Off-Campus
My interview was at at a hub location with a member of the adcom. She was professional, but very nice. Intro Questions: She asked about what I am doing right now, and we launched into a discussion about my job history. “Why do you want get an MBA? Why now?” Behavioral Questions: “Describe a time when you worked with someone more or less experienced with you, and they disagreed or had

Stanford GSB MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Off-Campus / Alum
Interview was conducted at a local dealership while alumni interviewer was getting his car repaired. Whole thing took about 60 minutes. The alum seemed a little gruff at first, but he opened up as we talked more, especially when I got him to start talking about his own experiences. Tone was really informal, perhaps the most informal interview I’ve ever done. Intro Questions: “Why Stanford?” I asked if he also meant why MBA in general, and he said “Yeah, let’s start with that.” “What do you want to do?” I told him I wanted to eventually start my own company,

Tuck MBA Admissions Interview Questions: November Round / Applicant-initiated interview / On-campus / 2nd year student
I just completed my Tuck interview today and it was a pretty good experience. If I asked a team you’ve worked with about you, what constructive criticism would they give about you? Why MBA? Why now? Why Tuck? Is there anything else you would like to say? My interviewing student was really friendly and I could tell that Tuck tries to make it really informal–very much like a conversation. He made a

Also talked about working across cultures and where I see myself in 15-20 years on a personal standpoint (not professional) – the talk was great, he shared a lot of his experience with INSEAD. Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / First-year Student / On Campus
When I showed up for my Kellogg interview, I was asked to present my resume and fill out some paper work regarding my career goals, short and long, and my intended concentrations at Kellogg. My assumption was that the interviewer would quickly look a this in advance of the interview along with my resume. There will likely be several students in the lobby preparing to interview. I would suggest getting to know them and making conversation as a way to ease nerves before the interview. My interviewer was a 1st year student. She started the interview by telling me it

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Healthcare Management + Second-year Student / On Campus
I had two interviews, one with the Healthcare Management Program and a general one. 1) The healthcare on was totally conversational and laid back. It felt like a seamless flow of interview questions directed at me and selling Wharton to me. It started off with small talk, then a few questions: Why MBA? From your essay, I understand that your long term goal is xxx, how will the MBA help you? Asked a few more questions specific to my background (where else applying). Also discussed specifics to the industry I want to work in (healthcare in emerging markets). What are

Chicago Booth MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alum / On Campus
I interviewed with a recent Booth graduate on campus. Before the interview, as anticipated per the Clear Admit wiki, there were current students making casual conversation with potential candidates. They were extremely pleasant, and I would strongly recommend making the most of the conversation as it will both relax you before the interview and prepare your mind for the upcoming interview. The interview began on time, so I would suggest being at least fifteen minutes early to converse with current students. My interview began with the interviewer giving me some background on herself and then prepping me with the fact

The interview started with three behavioral questions: tell me about a time when you bring an initiative or important idea; tell me about a time when you need to take into consideration other’s opinions; tell me about a time when you are convinced by others. Then the interviewer asked two traditional questions: why now? how you choose business schools? In the end, I asked two questions about Wharton. I benefited from this page, and hope my experience will help others.

Kellogg MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alum / Kellogg Interview day / Off Campus
Interviewed with an Kellogg Alum in New Delhi during Kellogg Interview Day. My interview started with a brief introduction of the interviewer. I was able to recall her profile from the time when I attended a Kellogg Information Session and asked her a little about her work experience. This helps me in setting a context / baseline for sharing my stories during the interview. The interview lasted for over an hour (though scheduled to be 30-45 minutes). The interview was very conversational and the interviewer friendly. The bulk of the interview was shaped around walk me through your resume. We

Harvard MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Adcom / On-Campus
Interviewed on Nov 7, 2011. It was very conversational in nature and not stressfull at all. Interviewer’s general approach: Started off by explaining the process as follows: – Interview is one of the items of your application and not make-or-break – He would be taking notes and will move from one question to another very quickly and would be looking at his watch to keep track of time – There was an observer in the room who wouldn’t really ask questions and was there to have a second set of eyes Questions: – How did you decide to move from

INSEAD MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alum / Off-Campus
Hello everyone, I just finished my first interview and after a lot of thoughts I decided to share it with you because I believe that it was a really peculiar interview. Description: Don’t be stressed after reading this because it’s really not a typical INSEAD interview (I have talked with more than 10 INSEAD Alums and read the 32 blogs on this website), but it’s just to tell you that you have to be prepared for anything. A week after sending the e-mail to the alum, I still didn’t get a response. I didn’t want to be too pushy but

The main interview questions were: What is your management style Time when you have made a major mistake at work and how you dealt with it Time when you were faced with an ethical dilemma why an MBA? why now ? why columbia? Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Student / On-Campus
Somewhat surprised that I’m the first to post this season… I really encourage anyone who uses this site to just take a few minutes to share their experience. I certainly benefited from the posts below and I hope my addition is helpful. I just had my interview with a 2nd year Wharton student today. The interviewer was very friendly and tried to keep things casual. We had a similar professional background (finance) and even shared the same past employer. The interview went smoothly and roughly as expected. There were a few standard, introductory questions at first and then three behavioral

Chicago Booth MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alum / Off-Campus
Had my interview today with an alumni of Chicago Booth at his office. It was a very pleasant experience. Here’s how it went: My interview started around 20 minutes late and when my interviewer walked in I sensed he was in a rush and he indicated as much by saying it’ll have to be a short interview (around 30-35 mins). He explained to me that he hadn’t read anything about me so it was going to be a ‘blind interview’. He put me at ease by saying that most of the questions that he would ask me might be similar
