INSEAD MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / September 2010 intake / Alumni / Off-campus
I received the interview notification on the final night of the deadline (INSEAD is notorious) for sending out bulk of the notifications on the final day (or night depending on your location, i was in US). The MBA Admissions Coordinator, who was a really nice and thoughtful lady helped me setup the interview. I received contacts of two alumnus both of whom were working / had worked in the field I was interested in (Alternative Energy / Entrepreneurship). Here I must mention that INSEAD alumni is very impressive and very diverse. One of the assigned interviewer did Law from Stanford

Stanford GSB MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 3 / Alumna / Off-campus
My interview was held during the workday in my interviewer’s office. The tone was very conversational, comfortable, and friendly with questions tailored to my experiences. Why MBA? Why Stanford? Why did you join ROTC in undergrad? (seemed to want to understand my motivations and thought processes) What skills have you learned in your current job? (was military, now private sector) What frustrations have you had with the corporate world? Ended with a discussion based on my questions – her experiences, culture at the school, etc.

Berkeley / Haas MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alumni / Off-campus
I applied round 2 in December 2009. Early in February I received an invite to Super Saturday in March. I had already visited Berkeley and could not take the time to visit again (from New York City) so I asked for off-campus interview instead. I was paired with a 2009 grad living and working in Brooklyn for a start up (something I’m interested in doing – we were paired because of our similar interests and goals). We emailed to schedule it, and she asked me to suggest a coffee shop that was convenient to both of us. We met an

Ross MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Phone / Adcom
I just finished my phone interview (I am living in Asia) with an admissions committee representative. I called right on time and was transferred to a very nice lady. She was conversational but the interview still felt like an interview instead of a chat. She started by saying she may not have had access to my application (is that a yes or no?) so it’s ok if I repeat the examples and information that I had used in my application. Also, I was calling with an internet phone and there was lag between responses. A few times I couldn’t hear

UCLA / Anderson MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / 2nd Year Student / On-Campus
The interview was almost exactly 30 min, done inside an admission officer’s office. I didn’t get too much feedback from my interviewer, as she was firing off questions to fit within the interview time slot. The questions were fairly standard: Walk me through your resume Why MBA, why Anderson, why now? Tell me a time where you showed leadership Tell me a time where you worked in a team Tell me about a time when you received constructive criticism What will you contribute to the Anderson community? The interview then concluded with 5 minutes for me to ask her questions

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off-campus / Alumni
The interview was pretty informal and took place at Starbucks. We talked for about an hour and seemed to click pretty well. He was very enthusiastic about Wharton and his passion for the school definitely showed. He asked me to email him my resume ahead of time and brought a list of questions with him. Some of the questions he asked were: Tell me about yourself (he started by talking about himself and once finished asked me to do the same) Why MBA? Why Wharton? Why Now? Short term and long term career goals (he probed into this a bit).

Columbia MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Regular Decision / Second year student / On-campus
DURATION: 1 Hour I interviewed on-campus as part of the “Super Saturday” to which local applicants are invited to interview with a second-year MBA student. At the appointed time I went to my assigned room and met my interviewer. He was friendly though not particularly extroverted. After some brief small talk, he asked me the following series of questions, which he was obviously reading from a prepared list: “Tell me about yourself” — I walked him briefly through my career progression since college, making sure to spend adequate time on the choices I made rather than the responsibilities I had

NYU / Stern MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / On-campus / Admissions officer
I visited a class with a friend (it wasn’t my first visit to the school) and then came to the Admission office with 15-20 min to spare. Definitely appreciated the personalized packet of information and the t-shirt. There were several other interviewees waiting and finally my interviewer came out. She was friendly and very welcoming and there was water waiting on the desk for me when we went into her office. The interview questions were fairly straightforward (no curveballs), and I was pleasantly surprised by this. I had been expecting a few more difficult questions, so I would still recommend

Wharton MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off-campus / Alumni
The interview took place in a London hotel’s cafe. Timing was 45 minutes discussion (the alumnus kept track of time all the way through the interview) + 20 minutes questions and informal discussion. The atmosphere was quite relaxed, especially after the “official” part ended. Walk me through your resume (I kept on describing my long and short term plans, as the interviewer did not stop me) What was the most important project you have done? (I’ve been working for the same consulting company since graduation) Why entrepreneurship? Tell me two examples from your past experience Why Wharton? He asked some

Columbia MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Early Decision / Alumnus / Off-campus
I interviewed with an alumnus at his place of work on 10/21/09 for Early Decision. The setting wasn’t totally casual but it was somewhat conversational. I was asked the following questions: Why Columbia? Why now? Chicago Booth MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Alum / Off-Campus
The interview took place in a coffee shop. I reached 30 minutes before time and took time to settle down and got myself a coffee. I was dressed in business formals and waited till the alum arrived. He was a 2007 graduate. He had a copy of my resume with him. He got himself a coffee and we sat down to talk. He explained that the interview would go in as just another input to the whole application process and is just a way to verify what I wrote in the essays. He started asking questions then for about an

NYU / Stern MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / On-campus / Adcom
I had a morning slot and I reached 15 min early. I received the welcome package containing the t-shirt and customized folder at the interview office. There were 3-4 interviews going on simultaneously. My interviewer was a lady, also a Stern alum now working in the Admissions Office. Since the NYU interview are non-blind, expect the questions to probe beyond the essay material. Briefly talk about your background – I talked about my tech roles and MS experience. The campus visit was very well organized. I was impressed by the facilities in Harper center. My interviewer, a 2nd year student, was very friendly. He first explained to me that the interview is more like a conversation. He told me that he had received my resume only 5 mins before the interview and that he did not read my application. He told me that they wanted to keep it that way in order to paint an unbiased picture of me as part of the application. Here are the questions – more or less in the same order. Q. From

Interview was with alum Gautam Rao in Hyderabad. He’s a nice guy. The building you meet him in is pretty ‘humble’/’down to earth’ which makes a change from the generally corporate powerhouse setting I’ve had other interviews in. It was supposed to be 30 mins but he said he would allocate 45-60 mins. It actually ran 65 mins. Questions were: In six mins run through your CV Tell me about what you did at all these jobs How was it working for this firm and getting laid off Tell me about your travelling Tell me about your charitable experiences Tell

IESE MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Off-campus / Adcom / Admitted
Originally shared by Memoirs of a MBA Aspirant I had my interview with an Adcom member in New York. Her name was Nani and the experience was great. She was very friendly and made me feel really comfortable. After exchanging pleasantries, she briefly explained to me the interview process and the structure. She also was taking note of everything that I was saying and I think that was great as this will avoid the interviewer forgetting what i said. Overall the interview was to know about me as a person in detail, and how the decisions I’d

Berkeley / Haas MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Student / On-campus
Round 1 / Student / On-campus / Published by mbajourney2012 I was waitlisted in R1 at Haas (UC Berkeley). All waitlisted applicants have an option to “enhance” their application, whether by seeking additional recommendation letters, re-taking the GMATs, submitting additional statements, etc. Another option is to have an interview, which is an opportunity I jumped on since I wanted to visit Haas anyway. I scheduled an interview on campus for Monday morning. I arrived with about 45 minutes to spare, and spent the time going through my notes over a coffee in a Haas cafe, Fifo. I
